Position Overview
The Director of Student Recruitment & Enrollment (DSRE) is responsible for improving and implementing the strategy for the team's work on student recruitment, enrollment, and enrollment compliance. As the team leader, the Director of Student Recruitment & Enrollment plays a critical role in realizing our mission of providing all students within KIPP Philadelphia Public Schools (KPPS) with an excellent education that allows them to pursue the paths they chose by overseeing KPPS' student recruitment and enrollment strategy and processes. The DSRE will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and partner with the Regional and School Operations, Marketing & Communications, and Family Engagement Teams to execute our Student Recruitment and Enrollment strategy.
To be successful in this role, the Director of Student Recruitment & Enrollment brings a track record for designing and implementing successful recruitment and enrollment strategies; and experience building and maintaining relationships with community members and partners. The Director of Student Recruitment & Enrollment should be comfortable working in an environment that requires you to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines, while never losing sight of the overarching goals and desired outcomes. Key Responsibilities
Strategy Improvement and Implementation (15%)
Lead the improvement and implementation of a regional strategy for student recruitment and enrollment, ensuring full enrollment of 100% of KIPP Philadelphia Public Schools throughout the year.
Create and implement a regional student recruitment strategy plan which includes enrollment targets, measurements, and an emphasis on online/social media outreach, and community partner outreach.
Define metrics, set targets, and track progress against recruitment and enrollment goals.
Develop and update standard operating procedures for student recruitment and enrollment
Train and launch student recruitment and enrollment cycles in conjunction with school teams
Develop and deliver a comprehensive training and support program-including leading on-the-ground efforts around family and community engagement, canvassing, etc.
Partner with the Regional and School Operations Teams to oversee execution of information sessions, lottery, and new family orientations.
Partner with Managing Director of Regional Operations and School Leaders to oversee Operations Leaders' management of student and family enrollment process from lottery to first day of school.
Partner with the Managing Director of Regional Operations, Data Team and Compliance Director to oversee data systems management of the enrollment process, facilitate proper compliance of all charter enrollment laws, KIPP Philadelphia Public Schools' enrollment policies and lottery practices.

Event planning for enrollment events for families to submit paperwork and learn more about KPPS

Track and analyze all data regarding student recruitment and registration benchmarks and goals
Manage the preparation for the Apply Philly Charter annual enrollment lottery
Manage and approve transfer process between KIPP Philadelphia schools
Utilize enrollment system and Power School (SIS) to ensure fidelity of student information
Utilize marketing system and other recruitment tracking systems for student recruitment

Role Overview:
The Building Substitute provides critical, flexible support to students, classrooms, and the building at large that help our schools ensure that a) learning is maximized for students every day and b) successful, smooth day-to-day operations. The Building Substitute will provide classroom coverage as needed and should be comfortable and confident stepping into lead quality instruction across a variety of classrooms (guidance and resources will be provided). The Building Substitute will also provide a variety of other support services that support the healthy functioning of the school, including support with arrival, dismissal and transitions, general classroom assistance, student supervision and support in common spaces (like lunch and recess), tutoring and small group learning, and other relevant duties as assigned. The daily hours for this position are 8:00-4:30 daily. Candidates should note that while this is a one-year, grant-funded role, this position offers opportunities for growth; a number of past Building Substitutes at KPPS have gone on to serve as highly successful, permanent lead teachers at our schools.

Instructional Support

Position Summary:
The Enrollment Support Specialist (ESS) plays a key role in helping new families enroll their students at Mastery Schools. As part of the Operations team and Network Enrollment Team, this position supports Philadelphia schools and/or Camden schools by assisting with student recruitment efforts, ultimately helping schools meet and maintain their enrollment goals throughout the year. Guide families through the enrollment process, including identifying the best Mastery school for their child, answering questions, and assisting with applications.
Provide customer service via phone, text, email, and LiveChat to respond to inquiries from parents, staff, and community partners.
Manage lead cultivation in HubSpot, contacting interested families daily and meeting weekly conversion and outreach goals.
Transition enrolled families to school-based operations teams for registration completion.

Role Overview:
Reporting to the Managing Director of Student Supports, the Regional Director of Student Supports-Secondary Schools Support is responsible for supporting school teams and supporting coordination of all specialized services (IEPs, 504s, ELLs) for regionwide support for all KIPP Philadelphia Schools. The overarching goals of the position are to improve student achievement for all learners, to develop and support schools in implementing best practices for working with students who qualify for special education services, to build innovative solutions for specialized needs in our schools, to ensure programmatic compliance with local, state and federal guidelines, and to create efficiencies in cost and resources by facilitating collaboration and centralization across schools.
Key Responsibilities:
Programmatic Leadership
In collaboration with the Managing Director of Student Supports, provide training, guidance, support, monitoring, and supervision of school personnel to assist schools in implementing special education and related services in compliance with IDEA and related federal and state laws, rules, and regulations.
Consult and provide biweekly compliance support to the Assistant Principal of Student Supports and create corrective action plans when and where appropriate based on file reviews, IEP reviews, and re-evaluation data reviews.
Consult and provide monthly cadence with school-based Assistant Principals of Student Supports to develop, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of special education programs and other student supports (MTSS, 504, ELL, etc.)
Conduct weekly check-ins (O3's) and coaching and development support for Assistant Principals of Student Supports (file reviews, supporting case managers, IEP development, replacement curriculum, assessments, etc.).
Analyze student achievement and progress data across multiple metrics and lead/consult with Managing Director of Student Supports on programmatic design decisions to enhance student outcomes.
Implement systems of training, coaching, and supports so that students with disabilities are provided research-based, specially designed instruction that meets the unique needs of the student.
Partners with school personnel to assist students with disabilities to access the sate-approved general education curriculum and to the maximum extent appropriate, be educated with their non-disabled peers.
Works with school teams to develop transition programming for students with disabilities (SWD) and overseas related logistics, transportation, memorandums of understanding, with worksite partners (Assistant Principals of Student Supports). Supervise out of district (OOB) placements.
Consult with schools on unique student cases that involve special placement decisions or unique logistical issues (i.e., transportation, medical services, homebound instruction, etc.).
Support the implementation and coaching of special education and intervention curriculum in literacy, math and writing through selection, adoption, training, and implementation process
Design impactful, high quality professional development workshops for Assistant Principals of Student Supports, case managers, and teachers on instructional and programmatic initiatives
Serve as a central point of contact for internal programmatic and compliance questions related to Special Education (including services, discipline, etc.).
Work with schools to implement the pre-referral process (e.g., SAP, RTII, Child Find) and support implementation of a multi-tiered support system (MTSS) and Tier 3 decisions.
Support coordination of Psychology, Related Services, and other Special Education supports with outside agencies.
Represent KIPP Philadelphia Schools on due process cases and pre-case settlements with attorneys.
Support Due Process compliance processes through case tracking, filing, and case closure.
Operational/Compliance Leadership
Analyze and report on special education enrollment and budgeting
Co-Manage regional Special Education and 504 documentation system including web-based IEP database, shared resource drive, etc.
Monitor compliance of all Special Education, 504, and ELL files and evaluations through regular file audits and assistance with obtaining paperwork from prior schools. Make recommendations and provide face to face support to Assistant Principals of Student Supports when they are not meeting compliance.
Manage and support compliance protocols associated with special education (e.g., cyclical monitoring, charter renewal, annual reporting)
Work with recruitment team to support special education hiring, as needed
Negotiate and monitor region-wide contracts with service provider vendors and independent contractors to ensure schools utilize cost-effective services. Meet with Managing Director of Student Services prior to contract approvals.
Manage region-wide Access Billing process (Medicaid) in conjunction with regional Operations team.
Support the MDSS in creating Special Education Budgeting recommendations

KPPS Social Workers provide the following core services: prevention, intervention, assessment, and collaboration. Performing preventive and routine maintenance and repairs on building and systems; including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting ,general building repairs, life safety and associated systems
Completing assigned work and maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
Executing emergency procedures on building systems and sub-systems
Performing trash and snow removal as needed
Climbing ladders to replace lamps and to work on equipment
Performing operational checks to ensure equipment is operating within parameters and at maximum efficiencies
Lifting equipment, tools, and building supplies
Maintaining equipment logs, records, operational data and history
Ordering equipment and supplies as needed for the maintenance of the school building
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Operations
Qualifications:
Must have a Class “A” Engineers license for Boilers or must be able to obtain the license with-in the 1st year of hire
Must have Building Certification Type A, HVAC Certification and EPA Universal HVAC license
Ability to climb ladders and lift 55lbs or more
Ability to work in confined spaces
Maintain building exterior and curb appeal (i.e. snow removal, lawn care , trash removal)
Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
Must be effective working independently with little or no supervision
Strong organizational skills and proficient in establishing priorities
Ability to communicate and cooperatively work with a diverse group of people
Must have Valid Driver's License
Must be able to pass background check
Education and Experience:
High School and/or Trade Vocational School Graduate
Required certification and/or experience in building related trades in one (1) or more areas: HVAC , Electric, Plumbing and/or Carpentry
Minimum three (3) years commercial HVAC service, repair or maintenance experience with rooftop units preferred
Five (5) years of related experience and/or training in a facilities maintenance position
Experience working on complex equipment components, computer systems and blueprints
Experience or interest in an urban high school setting
Physical Requirements:
Sitting, talking, hearing, and seeing; Driving, standing for long periods, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling, feeling, reaching, lifting heavy equipment, grasping, twisting above the waist, bending at waist, repetitive hand and arm motion, and fine finger manipulation in the use of a computer. Climb ladders, enter crawl spaces, exertion of force, manipulation of hand and/or foot controls.
