Reporting directly to the Shipping and Receiving department leader, the material control clerk is responsible for performing duties related to managing inventory, cycle counting, shipping, receiving, and packaging finished goods; delivery of materials and supplies.

Starting Rate: $20+/hour
Reporting directly to the Shipping and Receiving department leader, the material control clerk is responsible for performing duties related to managing inventory, cycle counting, shipping, receiving, and packaging finished goods; delivery of materials and supplies.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Pick, pack and deliver raw materials to production floor, and sales orders to shippers. Work with Production Control Department (AKA Production Scheduling) and inside sales to fulfill orders
- Manage physical inventory, cycle count and participate in annual physical inventory counts. Update materials in ERP system
- Package hazardous materials using scoops, funnels, dry box, hoods from/to pallets, pails, drums, bottles and cans (55 gallon to ½ pint). Wear appropriate PPE as specified including respiratory protection
- Maintain supply inventory systems for various internal customers. Deliver supplies throughout the facility
- Perform receiving functions; generate receipts, weigh and verify inbound shipments of raw materials for quantity, weight, and conformance of materials; enter data into ERP system; manage and control incoming locations; work with quality department to ensure all material conforms and is controlled.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma / GED equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience material handling in similar industry.
- Experience with measuring/weighing materials.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products/ERP equivalent.
- Schedule must be flexible. Shift times are adjusted periodically; additional work hours are periodically required to accommodate business needs.
PREFERRED:
- Experience handling hazardous materials / dangerous goods
- Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, food or chemical manufacturing environment. Prior training in chemical/ powder handling / dispensing
- Previous Forklift experience
- Knowledge of learn manufacturing principals
- SAP/ SAPWM Experience

Purpose Statement: To monitor and control WOs also account for all the materials on the Manufacturing floor.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Assist with the control and management of WIP inventory and locations to reduce inventory costs, while increasing inventory accuracy, flexibility, and integrity.
- Maintain the following WIP inventory locations: floor stock (FS), line side (LS), Kan Ban, Service and any other location(s) directly related to the production floor.
- Receipt and close open WOs to ensure WO integrity, verify material usage and accurate reflect inventory levels.
- Monitor and follow-through on daily ECN/BOM changes, for open WOs to update inventory requirements and ensure proper/timely disposition of inventory.
- Oversee the manufacturing material process for component issues on open WOs to increase Manufacturing efficiencies and optimizing Purchasing efforts.
Additional Accountabilities:
- Perform WIP cycle counts.
- Run reports as needed.
- Resolve daily discrepancies and problems to increase inventory accuracy and integrity.
- Update WOs when there is a WO to WO transfer to ensure accuracy.
- Complete appropriate transactions to maintain inventory integrity and resolve discrepancies.
- Communicate with Manufacturing in resolving Aging WO material issues/problems.
- Complete daily WO receipt transactions and researching problems to ensure WO integrity.
- Minimal travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated >10%).
- Additional duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Qualifications:
- A minimum of a High School Diploma is required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
- Five (5) years of related experience is required; Seven (7) or more years of related experience is preferred.
- Membership or certification in a professional materials organization such as APICS is preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.
Other Qualifications:
- Organizational skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.
- Literacy of computer packages such as Microsoft Office, JDE, and WMS.
- General office equipment and materials.
Work Environment:
- The work setting should consist of a manufacturing environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a moderate noise level.
