Material controller job description

Maintain accurate inventory of materials and supply production areas with materials.
Essential Functions:
- Operate all types of tools and machines essential and necessary to the job, including, but not limited to, forklifts, hand jacks, tape measures, calculator, computers, loading docks, cranes, scales, data collection equipment, radios and copy machine.
- Verify incoming material shipments for accuracy. Check quality of materials and spot defective material.
- Receive and stock material in appropriate sector locations.
- Conduct cycle and physical counting of all material assigned.
- Accurately document all shipments to production areas. Use computer to access information and process paperwork in a timely manner.
- Follow instructions for daily picking and supplying of materials to designated production areas, including manual placement in specified locations, transferring of materials between warehouses, and returning to stock.
- Loading/unloading materials from trailers and trucks.
- Perform daily checks on equipment including fluid levels. Complete checklist.
- Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, accurate and highly productive manner according to company policy.
- Contribute to the team effort to produce a quality product.
- Attend scheduled work hours on a regular and timely basis. Maintain good attendance.
- Ability to work mandatory overtime.
- Ensure the safety of others working in the vicinity of moving vehicles.
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures.
- Ability to work and communicate in a team environment.
- Other duties may be assigned as required by the company

Under daily supervision the Material Controller is responsible for assisting with and maintaining component needs for the production line. In this position you will fulfill production requirements within the Gate 2 Kitting/Accumulation process by identifying and gathering components according to the production schedule in order to meet customer commit dates.
- Analyze and review data to assure proper disposition of materials and parts, including identification of miss-allocated parts, rerouting as appropriate and processing required paperwork.
- Work for quick resolution to support Production with strong sense of urgency by responding to the shops needs with inquiries to any materials issues. Ensure parts are stored accordingly to prevent damage and contamination.
- Procure and expedite aircraft materials via repair, subcontract, and/or supplied in order to maintain production needs as well as customer needs, both internal and external.
- Accumulate and account for numerous components on a daily basis to various engine racks within Gate 2.
- Prepare engine racks for build by completing a thorough inventory of the racks and resolving any outstanding issues prior to releasing the racks to build.
- Work closely with Customer Service and Operations to mitigate any shortages by exhausting all possible swap options.
- Monitor the production schedule/board daily to ensure engine racks are prepared in advance to release to build as they are scheduled.
- Run reports daily to have visibility of outstanding materials issues as it pertains to production scheduling.
- Utilize electronic databases in order to retrieve information regarding aircraft parts inventory, manufacturing model and serial numbers, and pertinent information to ensure accuracy and integrity of all data.
- Provides materials, components, and engines in a timely manner by physically moving them from stock points either manually or by way of material handling equipment (i.e., forklift, pallet jack, etc.)
- Adhere to all safety procedures in the performance of the job.
- Complete training as required.
- Work in a fast paced, high demand environment that requires constant change.
- Able to adjust to any/all demands in order to meet production needs and customer commits.

Position Requirements:
Good planning, organizational, interpersonal, and decision-making skills to ensure compliance to customer, regulatory and company requirements.
- A valid class 5 driver's license (or equivalent)
- A valid forklift operator's license (preferred)
- Mechanical dexterity
- Working knowledge of computers
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average workday.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the proper handling of material.
- Working knowledge of inventory controls and warehousing procedures is an asset.
- Thorough knowledge of the workplace hazardous materials information system (WHMIS) requirements and hazardous goods handling.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.

We have an Awesome Aerospace company, They are looking for an Inventory Control Clerk/Cycle Counting-Material Handler with Electrical Reach Exp. This is a M-F shift 5am to 1:30pm with some Saturday OT.


Summary Compiles records concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials, inventory, supplies, and equipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Count equipment, merchandise, material, or supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory records using computer or manually.
2. Compare inventories with what’s on office records.
3. Compute figures from records, such as production records, sales orders or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory.
4. Verify computer data with physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation, then count, or investigate and report reasons for discrepancies if there is any.
5. Compile information on receipt equipment, merchandise or disbursement of material, or supplies and cost.
6. Prepare reports on price lists, inventory balance, and shortages.
7. May operate office machines, such as calculators, photocopy machines, and typewriters.
8. May stock and issue merchandise or materials.
9. Responsible for compiling and maintaining records of the value, type and quantity of a company’s supplies.
10. Uses handtrucks/forklifts for shipping, receiving and raw material movement..
11. Maintains a neat and organized work area
12. Issues parts and materials to the production floor.
13. May label and receive materials in accordance with company policies and procedures, i.e. counts, examines, weights and checks.
14. Assist with year-end inventory/perpetual cycle counting
15. Comply with company policies, practices and procedures.
16. Participate in proactive efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
17. Work effectively and communicate clearly with other employees
18. Handle changing deadlines and priorities
19. Review work for accuracy, completeness and proper authority
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities; however, incumbent employees may perform lead duties and functions including:
• Issues supplies and equipment.
• Ensures team members are cross-trained within the department.
• Maintains 5S in the stockroom and raw material areas
