Here’s what you’ll be doing:

The Materials Coordinator reports to the Procurement Category Lead and supports major project work by tracking and expediting project materials purchased.

  • Tracks lead times for major material with various vendors and in-house engineering, and provides input into the project schedule
  • Works with Transmission Engineering and Procurement to ensure that all required materials are ordered
  • Coordinates and expedites materials for transmission construction in support of project management, planning and scheduling
  • Utilizes ERP system and available reporting tools

  • 3-5 years of experience in Business Administration, Procurement, Materials Management or Project Management.
  • Utilities industry knowledge preferred.

- Maintains ERP system for all Material functional areas such as Item Master, BOM, ship to locations, and inventory parameters

- Creates daily production schedules and ensures production output is recorded and posted into the ERP system

Job purpose
BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Prototype Operations Material Coordinator Contractor.

In this role, and under direct supervision of the Operations Manager, the Material Coordinator Contractor will be a key member of the fast- paced working environment of the prototype parts crib team. In this position, the Material Coordinator will be responsible for tracking automotive electronic engineering material, documenting, storing, and kitting the inventory.

Key responsibilities
Receive and label all engineering material and place them accordingly into the proto inventory system with assigned inventory locations Use the Proto Engineering Inventory System to electronically manage all material Generate all reports associated with inventory control including bill of materials to manually pull the materials needed for prototype builds Identify and locate the required materials / components during the delivery and kitting process Communicating part shortages to the Material PlannersKeep a well-maintained and updated account of stock and inventory Collaborating with internal departments to locate missing packages, fix incorrect deliveries and replace damaged products Control quarantined material Verify the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries Perform inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy Follow ESD guidelines when handling material

What we're looking for
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate. Preferred associate degree in warehouse management. 0-3 years' experience working in warehouse / stockroom Experience handling electronic components and assemblies Data entry and computer skills Physically fit with the ability to lift objects weighing up to 35 lbs.Must be able to operate manual pallet jacks Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Excellent time management and organizational skills Written and verbal communication skills Ability to work in a team environment and independently Energetic, self-motivated, proactive, and customer focused working style Ability to work flexible hours and overtime when necessary
