Qualifications

BS 2-4 Years, MS 0-2 or HS 8-10

Experience:

• Must be familiar with material specifications and standards governing corrosion prevention and environmental material applications.
• Additional knowledge of composites, cure cycles, hot and cold bonding and use of adhesives, is highly desirable.
• Must have a strong understanding of qualification requirements for corrosion protection as applies to aircraft and knowledge of the impact of environment on structural properties.
• Must have experience with quality control and NDT of hardware and structures.
• Experience with the development of field repair for aerospace composite structure is desired.

Security: Must adhere to all U. S. government security rules, regulations and policies and possess or be eligible for a SECRET clearance.

For Colorado Residents Colorado Salary Minimum: $50,300
Colorado Salary Maximum: $122,100

The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees. Research and study the structures and chemical properties of various natural and synthetic or composite materials, including metals/zirconia, alloys, ceramics, polymers, and glass. Determine ways to strengthen or combine materials or develop new materials with new or specific properties for use in a variety of products and applications.

- Plan laboratory experiments to confirm feasibility of processes and techniques used in the production of materials having special characteristics.
- Confer with customers to determine how to tailor materials to their needs.
- Research methods of processing, forming and firing materials to develop such products as ceramic dental materials including zirconia.
- Conduct research on the structures and properties of materials, such as metals/zirconia, alloys, polymers, and ceramics to obtain information that could be used to develop new products or enhance existing ones.
- Prepare reports of materials study findings for the use of other scientists and requestors.
- Devise testing methods to evaluate the effects of various conditions on particular materials.
- Determine ways to strengthen or combine materials or develop new materials with new or specific properties for use in a variety of products and applications.
- Study the nature, structure and physical properties of materials and their responses to applied forces.
- Monitor production processes in order to ensure that equipment is used efficiently and that projects are completed within appropriate time frames and budgets.
- Test material samples for tolerance under tension, compression, and shear to determine the cause of material failures.
- Test metals/zirconia to determine conformance to specifications of mechanical strength, strength-weight ration, ductility, magnetic and electrical properties, and resistance to abrasion, corrosion, heat and cold.
- Recommend materials for reliable performance in various environments.
- Test individual parts and products to ensure that manufacturer and governmental quality and safety standards are met.
- Visit suppliers of materials or users of products to gather specific information.

About B&D Dental Technologies:

B&D Dental Technologies is a privately held company specializing in development, intellectual property, manufacture, and supply of dental CAD/CAM materials to dental laboratories throughout the US and internationally.

Minimum qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Textiles, Fiber Science, similar Engineering field, or equivalent practical experience

+ 8 years of experience with textile engineering, yarn development, and manufacturing textiles in consumer electronics products

+ Experience with textiles, including synthetics and natural fibers, and manufacturing/assembling processes (i.e., knitting, weaving, die cutting, and bonding)

Preferred qualifications:

+ Master's degree in Textiles, Fiber Science, or a similar Engineering field

+ 10 years of experience in textile/fabric development in consumer devices or footwear/apparel

+ Experience designing tests and performing experiments to develop new materials, and working with vendors and integration in Asia

+ Knowledge of material analysis and failure analysis techniques

+ Passion for materials engineering and excellent organization and project management skills

By leading the textile design and color development, you will help create products that are highly functional and aesthetically pleasing for our customers.

+ Work with Industrial Designers, Color Material Finishing Designers, and Product Designers on materials inspiration and textile selection for products to achieve functional, cosmetic, and performance goals.

+ Research next-generation yarn materials and help engineer exciting constructions that are a core to Google's textile design language.

+ Manage root-cause integration related issues caused by textiles and help resolve them in a timely manner with integrators to trial integration concepts.

+ Support review colors, textiles, and integrations at both raw material and integrated levels to ensure design intent has been achieved.

+ Work with yarn suppliers to enable future products including sustainable textiles. Balance property tradeoffs and drive a technical path to a scalable solution.
