Job Title: Material Handler/Packer Department: Materials Indirect Reports To: Production Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Summary: Maintains production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished product. Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders. Receives credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supplies code and lot number and quantity; placing materials in stock. Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product. Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers. Nails covers on wooden crates, binds containers with metal tape and/or plastic pallet wrap as needed. Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairs. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet special shipping instructions and Sales Order notes. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
