Performs any combination of the following tasks to assist in machine shop activities. Reports to: Production Control Supervisor Personnel: Not applicable. Duties: Move levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. Position forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hook tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transport load to designated area. Unload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting device. Deliver metal parts or stock to designated work areas for machining, using electric pallet mover, hoist, or overhead crane. Lift metal part or stock onto machine, manually or using hoist, and secure it on machine table, in chuck, or fixture, using wrenches, to assist in setting up machine. May inventory materials on work floor, and supplies workers with materials as needed. May weigh materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
