Role Summary:
Machine Operator will be using saws, rough drills and lathes, process orders to current manufacturing standards.
This will be a rotating 2nd shift schedule working one week Monday- Wednesday, 4:00PM-4:00AM and then the next week Monday-Thursday, 4:00PM-4:00AM.

Responsibilities:
Set up and operate band saw, 350, 450 And Power master Mazak NC Lathes. Determine proper tooling, saw blades, etc.; select proper feeds/speeds. Check finish parts dimensionally for accuracy using calipers, scale or other applicable measuring equipment.
Issue stock and raw material to Pick/Pack documents and manufacturing orders for distribution to work centers and shipping distribution center to maintain maximum customer service and stock replenishment.
Exhibit behavior that contributes toward an environment that encourages teambuilding, decision making, problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Adhere to safe work habits, rules and practices, including the correct use of safety devices and equipment; maintain a clean and orderly work place to include preventative machine maintenance.

Must be able to perform all duties safely. Lifting devices/aids will be provided for heavier objects.
Must be able to operate and maneuver around machinery safely to protect yourself and coworkers.
Must have the flexibility to move within the cell and cover in other work cells.

• Schedule and apply fertilizer and/or other nutrients weekly based on media testing results

• Choose between fertilizer blends and rates for optimal plant nutrition based on media testing and water sampling results
• Keep crops on schedule
Sanitation
• Scout weekly for algae, liverwort, and weeds in and around the greenhouses
• Apply sanitation techniques to control algae and liverwort growth
• Remove and destroy all weeds and liverwort as they are observed
• Keep greenhouse aisles and floor matting free of debris
• Make herbicide applications around the greenhouses as needed
• Applying slug bait and mouse bait to greenhouse ranges
• Utilize ride on sweeper to keep aisles and production areas clean
• Disposal of chemical rinsate on field grounds
Material Handling
• Unloading deliveries and putting supplies in proper locations
• Help keep production areas organized by moving skids, removing waste, and moving dumpsters
• Assist with unloading cuttings and tissue culture and moving to proper holding facilities
Additional Duties
• Participate in chemical applications of plant growth regulators, fungicides, and insecticides
• Monitor crops and coordinate mowing/pruning as needed
• Assist with mowing and moving of plants as needed
• Observe and communicate any pest and disease issues to the IPM Team, Section Grower, and Lead Grower immediately
• Communicate any other problems or concerns to Section Grower and/or Lead Grower immediately
• Assist in keeping inventory accurate with physical inventory checks and checking plug pulling documents.
