Job Description Overall Purpose & Objectives: The Commodity Handler is responsible for the efficient loading of dried distiller's grains, ethanol, corn oil, and wet cake into feed trucks and rail cars. This role involves the use of mechanical equipment including operating locomotives, meters, scales, computers, and software to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of products while maintaining product safety. Additionally, the Commodity Handler must adhere to all relevant Company policies and government regulations. Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions: Load final products (DDGS, Ethanol, Corn Oil, wet cake) into trucks and railcars to ensure timely delivery of all handled products. Unload grain trucks and railcars as needed to meet the plant's daily production schedules. Inspect material handling equipment and perform routine adjustments and minor maintenance as needed. Diligently watch and inspect the quality and grading of corn and grains. Operate rolling stock equipment to meet department needs such as locomotives, end loaders, RTV's, golf carts, skid loaders, etc. Comply with Company safety rules and wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. Report any equipment issues to Shift Leaders in a timely fashion. Complete tasks as assigned by Management or Shift Leads. Additional Responsibilities: Ensure all department areas are kept clean and free from safety hazards which require regular bending and occasional lifting.
