Job Title: Forklift Operator - AIU FLSA Exemption Status: Nonexempt Status: Hourly Department: Manufacturing Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor Job Summary: The Forklift Operator - Production is primarily responsible for operating a forklift to move materials and finished product to and from the correct staging line areas. They will also relocate, stack and count ingredients, pouches, caps, materials and products. The FLOP - PR is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle, as well as maintaining accurate documentation and product placement to ensure continuous and efficient manufacturing operations. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Safely use forklifts to move materials and product to and from the warehouse to the correct production line/area for staging and/or storage to ensure that production is receiving accurate product in a timely manner to ensure continuous and efficient operations. Scan in finished pallets with the correct MO number and Warehouse location. Efficiently stack and store the product in the appropriate areas. Assist in the monitoring and accurate maintenance of Company inventory, including participating in daily, monthly and annual inventory and cycle counts. Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory by identifying, labeling and placing materials and supplies in correct locations, as well as accurate scan & system input. Assist in reviewing Pick Tickets based on MOs to ensure the correct raw materials are staged for each order. Work closely with the Inventory Control team to monitor and maintain adequate supply levels to ensure continuous and timely production and operations. Document raw material disposition by recording and scanning to the correct MO and/or batch sheets and deliver to the Production team. Receive back into inventory unused raw materials from the production team by un-issuing from the correct MO and/or batch sheet. Prepare identified finished product for shipment by creating a pallet tag from the correct MO. Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying from Production MO's and/or batch sheets. Maintain process inventory which is to be delivered to the Production team. Practice First In, First Out and other inventory rotating practices to ensure product is not wasted. Practice all HACCP and OSHA required safety policies, including performing pre and post operation forklift inspection safety checklists. Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area, and assist in maintaining the security and overall cleanliness of the facility, to include Raw Materials. Uphold and promote food safety and quality standards by adhering to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, and actively supporting a culture of continual improvement and accountability. External Candidates: 6 months prior experience operating a forklift, including both stand up and sit-down lifts. Willing to complete a company provided forklift-training class. The ability to obtain a forklift certification within 5 days of placement within the FLOP 2 position. Ability to learn the company's warehouse management system. External Candidates: Prior experience using a Radio Frequency Scanner (RF Scanner) Ability to learn and use the Company's Radio Frequency Scanner (RF Scanner) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities change quickly. While performing the duties of this job, the teammate frequently will be required to sit and stand, as well as being exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat and/or cold. The teammate continuously works near moving mechanical parts. The teammate will be exposed to loud noises from machinery and thus will be required to wear PPE. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be high at times due to mechanical equipment noise. The teammate will regularly need to lift up to 75 pounds and is required to get on and off a forklift regularly.
