We are currently hiring a Forklift Operator with mid-level computer skills to support our warehouse operations during the seed delivery and return season. In this role, you will safely and efficiently handle materials and seed products, assist in maintaining inventory accuracy and help ensure timely, quality deliveries to meet customer expectations.
This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, computer accuracy and a strong safety mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate forklift in a professional, safe and accident-free manner

Handles returns, credits and salvages as necessary.

Processes incoming shipments, verifies shipment with purchase orders, and visually inspects materials for damage, quantity, descriptions, part number, serial number, condition order, etc. per FAA regulations and Duncan approved procedures.
Unloads and loads delivery trucks using a forklift in a safe and timely manner. Visually inspects materials for obvious damage, properly documents any damage(s), and notifies appropriate team member of any damage.
Coordinates emergency shipments with appropriate carrier according to Duncan Aviation approved procedures as necessary.
2. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

A Brief Summary of This Position
This incumbent supports the material handling area with emphasis on inventory accuracy of the store room, the receiving of vendor and unprocessed parts, as well as the issuing and movement of materials to manufacturing and outside operating sources. Essential Functions
Ensure accuracy for incoming parts to verify part number, size, quantity and inspect for damage.
Operate material handling equipment including machines such as cranes, straddle truck, forklift and shag truck.
Operate industrial trucks or tractors equipped to move materials around a warehouse, storage yard or plant.
Operate small hand tools - tape measures, saws, drills, riveters, and banders equipment.
Performs and oversees the receiving of raw material and purchased parts.
Performs inspections of materials for proper stacking and loading and move tag accuracy.
Performs audits and ensures accurate inventory counts.
Bands, bundles and packages parts using proper storage techniques.

Physical Effort
Without the help of the forklift, the Material Handler may have to lift, push and carry material but this represents less than 5% of the shift. Stooping, bending and squatting are required for most physical lifting, pushing and pulling. The Material Handler may be required to push, pull or lift up to 50lbs., but most of the physical lifting and moving is completed with the use of the forklift. The employee must be able to move about the warehouse or yard area with and without the forklift (close to 10% of the movements on the shift needs to be done without the use of the forklift). The rest of the shift is spent working in a sitting position from inside of a forklift, side loader, shag truck or straddle truck.

Fill customer orders and put together shipments of fabricated bar, warehouse bar, and other materials for shipments to customer and suppliers. Receive and unload incoming material from suppliers. Locate material into inventory storage, staging areas, and work areas.
Essential Job Functions:
Identify steel shapes, sizes, and mill tolerances.
Locate material as trained and instructed.
Locate bars or mesh according to the layout shown on yard map, cut lists and shop drawings.
Load/unload trailers, rail cars, customer vehicles, and machines.
Identify cut list and shop drawing errors and discrepancies before or during early stages of fabrication.
Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, jib cranes, conveyors, and transfers in order to move materials.
Any other duties assigned by management.
Attend all meetings as required by management.
Consistently and reliably works scheduled hours at assigned locations.
Qualifications
