Perform emergency roadside repairs as well as minor repairs and general maintenance (e.g. maintaining overall cleanliness of inside/outside of truck, topping off all fluids to proper levels, replacing windshield wiper blades, and lighting bulbs) to truck as required/needed. Safely remove snow and ice from entire vehicle when required/needed. Obtain safety, first aid or other relevant in-service training as required by supervisor. Perform other essential duties when truck is not available or when duties are completed, as directed by supervisor. Responsible for the movement of materials for the plant, in-house or at other sites, to include loading and unloading of trucks, movement of raw materials and completed shipments to and from sites, house call pickups, and storage of goods. Dispose of waste materials in and around job sites. Follow verbal instructions or read work orders to determine materials and containers to be moved. Load materials into and from vehicles, install strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, assisting truck driver. Convey materials to and/or from storage or work sites to designated areas using hand truck and tow motor. Participate in training regarding proper and safe operation of hand truck and tow motor. Occasionally count, weigh and/or record number of units of material moved or handled. Assist in preparation of all shipping documentation for materials being shipped from premises. Lift heavy objects by hand. Maintain clean work area, machines and/or equipment. Responsible for operation of baler equipment including but not limited to pricing, inventory control, etc. Will notify supervisor in the event of problems with equipment. Inbound positions receive products into the facility and outbound ships products to customers. **_Responsibilities_** + Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to process orders including accurately picking, performing quality control checks, sorting, consolidating freight, building, and wrapping pallets, packing, loading, and preparing orders for shipment. + Pick large case items with material handling equipment or pick small unit of measure items and place on designated cart. + Cross-train in multiple areas of the warehouse and participate in projects as needed. + Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) to check in and/or send out products. + Drive material handling equipment as required by job duty. Essential Job Functions: * Conduct inspections of vehicles and trailers at the beginning and end of each shift and report any problems or damage to your supervisor as well as appropriately logging using the company supplied method * Conduct inspections of vehicles and trailers before departing to deliver goods and report any problems or damage to your supervisor * Proficient with electronic driver logs and reports * Comply with DOT regulations and Company safety policies, rules and regulations * Pack and load products securely onto trucks according to company's specifications * Operate heavy machinery including Rough Terrain Forklifts, Forklifts * Deliver orders timely to customers on assigned routes * Maintain ongoing communication with route dispatcher * Unload goods as per client specifications * Review deliveries with customers to ensure products meet their needs * Obtain delivery confirmations from each customer and review deliveries with customers to ensure products meets their needs as required * Report any instance of mishap or accident to the supervisor and/or incident reporting hotline * Be proficient in use of PLS' P21 ERP system. * Acts as a representative of Power Line Supply Company in the community. * Acts within the letter and spirit of the laws of the United States, the States and municipalities in which The Power Line Supply Company operates. * Ensure your availability to respond to Storm or Emergency work that may occur from time to time for proper support of customer's needs. * Performs any other related or unrelated, unassigned, unspecified, unusual or special duty the Warehouse Supervisor may assign from time to time. Key Sub Tasks Shipping and pickups - delivery to and from job sites, customers, and supply sources - remove, haul, and dispose of debris from job sites.
