ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our Buildings & Hazardous Materials department in Quincy, MA.
This professional will support all aspects of hazardous materials and environmental projects including development of proposals, planning and coordinating activities, conducting field meetings, and assisting in report and permit writing activities. The Project Manager will also be responsible for working with other project managers to assist with multidisciplinary projects lead by other disciplines and supervising and mentoring a team of hazardous materials field technicians and support staff.
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety Studies, or similar field Typically requires 5+ years of relevant experience in hazardous materials, environmental or indoor air quality Previous project management (contracts, business development, design, QA/QC) experience required Asbestos Inspector, Asbestos Designer and Asbestos Management Planner certification preferred OSHA 10-hour Construction training and HAZWOPER training preferred Experience with AutoCAD a plus Strong communication skills

This position is for a project supporting the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), specifically Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Strategic Materials. The project is focused on working with Government and Industry to increase and secure supplies of raw materials, including rare earths, metals, and semi-processed specialty materials for DoD and essential civilian applications.
We are looking for a dynamic thinker with the ability to synthesize multiple factors (policy, business, contracting, regulation, and markets) to navigate a task. This person will use a combination of critical thinking, business acumen, technical knowledge, and data analysis skills to assess and help the U.S. Government solve challenging domestic and defense problems. This person will be a key asset to the Government lead executing acquisitions of raw materials into the National Defense Stockpile (NDS). This person, as tasking allows, may support Government leads with research and development or recycling services type-projects.
Essential Job Responsibilities
* The team member will directly support the Government Lead for acquiring raw materials into stockpile. The team member is expected to be organized, proactive, anticipatory, and an excellent communicator.
* Help devise contracting approaches for acquire raw materials into Government stockpile. They will use technical and market inputs from other team members and coordinate with Government contracting teams to develop and deliver a package of documents to publish to industry and award a contract against.
* May support the Government leads with research and development and/or recycling contracts and project management.
* This position will be required to write a large range of acquisitions documents included but not limited to Statements of Work, Performance Work Statements, purchase agreements, Quality Assurance Surveillance Plans, Market Research Reports, Independent government cost estimates, and submittal requirements.
Based on qualifications, the team member will have the option to be located at an HII office in Alexandria, VA or work 100% remotely. The primary customer is in Fort Belvoir, VA and the bulk of the HII team is located in Alexandria, VA. If working remotely, the team member must be willing to travel for periodic team and customer interactions.
