Materials associate job description

Receives, stores and issues supplies, including identification, counts and processes issued supply documents. Performs routine functions necessary in the issue of storage boxes and delivery of supplies, materials and similar related activities.
Essential Functions

* Processes transactions accurately and timely as a result of the receiving of physical goods from suppliers, or returned goods from customer departments, stock replenishments or the filling of customer orders.
* Executes transactions inside the management system, and utilizes both PC and RF scanner technologies to process transactions accurately.
* Reviews and verifies all documentation used throughout the process to ensure thoroughness and accuracy.
* Operates all powered and non-powered equipment in a safe manner and transports and stores all goods in a safe manner to prevent damage to the goods.
* Supervises the receiving and distribution of equipment and supplies.
* Ensures that equipment and supplies are handled, stored and maintained in secure environment.
* Removes non-functional equipment and supplies from service and reports problems to the proper department(s) for corrective action.
* Inspects working and storage areas and ensures clean and orderly conditions.
* Works safely; complies with all department, the System and OSHA safety regulations, as well as performs good housekeeping.
* Completes and submits daily the inspection checklist when using any powered piece of equipment (if required by department.)

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in the patient care areas independently, often under stressful conditions. Ability to support multiple function areas during the shift. Requires lengthy periods of standing and walking. Frequently requires sitting, stooping and stretching to perform job duties. Requires frequent pushing and/or pulling of equipment and supplies. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Ability to attend to several stimuli simultaneously. Ability to maintain emotional stability under stress.

Education, Experience and Certifications

High School Diploma or GED required. Equivalent and related work experience preferred. Depending on facility, position may require a valid driver's license (no violations in last 3 years).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Perform data reductions, calculations, standard testing and makes timely and sound judgments during the basic analysis of data while independently investigates unusual results;
* Perform assigned project tasks within specified timelines, seeks guidance and when working with complex issues and keeps appropriate party informed of progress;
* Assist with the development of reports and proposals related to project work;
* Perform evaluations, surveys, and investigations in the field or lab and take appropriate notes, samples and/or photos;
* Monitor contractor work for adherence to CTLGroup's Quality Management System, answering contractor questions and keeping client informed of progress;
* Effectively communicate with clients to attain information, respond to requests and inquiries and report status of work;
* Coordinate with and assign work to support personnel;
* Research vendors and place orders with manager's approval for needed equipment and materials;
* Proactively identify areas of learning and participate in professional development activities in order to maintain and enhance work knowledge and skills;
* Demonstrate awareness of employee safety by performing duties in accordance to company and OSHA guidelines;
* Maintains high ethical standards by using sound judgment that benefits both CTLGroup and its customers;

Required Education and Experience:

* Completion of a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in materials engineering and/or construction materials;
* 0-3 years of relevant experience;
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Education and Experience:

* Experience in construction inspection, materials testing, laboratory work, or related field;
* Advanced Degree preferred;
* Familiarity with standards and regulations (AASHTO, ASTM, ACI, AISC, etc…).

Physical and Travel Demands:

* Required to sit and use computer for prolonged periods of time;
* Some work may be performed in confined spaces and at heights in excess of six feet;
* Some work is performed in a laboratory environment or in the field where the following conditions may apply: exposure to chemicals, noise, dust, variations in temperature and humidity, fumes and various types of equipment listed above;
* Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) whenever necessary
* May require working additional hours;
* Up to 30% travel may be required.

Essential Functions
Follow-up all purchased parts to ensure shipment and on-time delivery performance to support production requirements Serve as main point of contact for all suppliers. Provide direction to suppliers regarding ship schedule requirements and containment plan when behind schedule. Includes decision making on timing for supplier ship schedules - allowing them to push material out, pull ahead and expedite material as needed based on inventory coverage at plant Track critical parts and develop/execute containment plan to ensure no interruptions or down time to manufacturing line, inclusive of decision making on mode and required delivery window to ensure continuity of production Coordinate and/or arrange for alternative sources of material, requests for spot buys, if necessary (SPO and other GM Plants) Independent monitoring, set-up, and cancellation of truck loads for material pick-up, as necessary to support schedule variations. Ensure proper material coverage at lowest possible cost for customer Review part buffers to determine that they cover build requirements. (Metal Centers and Powertrain).Document and manage S and AV code exceptions (Assembly Plants) including Alarm Interval maintenance. Determine root-cause and take appropriate action MGO Data Maintenance. Maintain accurate inventory levels in MGO, making appropriate adjustments where necessary. Make judgments on posting inventory adjustments based on investigation and analysis. Investigate and process any record adjustment requests from the previous shift
