Materials inspector job description

• Must be proficient in mechanical inspection methods, techniques and measuring tools & equipment.
• Minimum 1 year of inspection, testing or quality control (QC) experience.
• Capable math skills a must. Able to measure and calculate dimensions in both metric and English units.
• Must be detail oriented and focused on verifying inspection requirements to exacting tolerances.
• Must have good computer skills and data entry experience,
• Flexible hours, hardworking team player able to complete and support delivery schedules.
• Basic knowledge of Geometrical dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT) is desired.
• Experience in an ISO9000/AS9100 or similar certified organization is a plus.
• U.S. Citizenship or Qualified US Worker

Kleinfelder's Charlotte, NC office is seeking a Construction Materials Inspector.
The candidate will be responsible for concrete and soils testing on various size construction projects. There is an ever changing work schedule, with most hours worked during normal business hours, with some night, weekend, holiday, and overtime work to be expected. The candidate should be flexible, dependable, timely, and a quick learner.
We provide construction inspection and material testing services to a broad range of local and national clients. We are looking for individuals who are interested in in joining a dynamic team and building their career in the field of construction inspection and materials testing.
We're looking for a person with a minimum of 5 years of experience and a strong initiative, who will perform routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field, in order to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications.The technician will prepare daily reports and data sheets and may be called upon to perform various tasks at the discretion of the supervisor.
Required certifications (any combination) or ability to obtain within 45 days of hire include:

• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I
• Nuclear Gauge Training and Soils testing experience
• ICC Concrete
• ICC Post-Tension Concrete
• ICC Prestressed Concrete
• ICC Masonry
• ICC Soils

The successful candidate will be encouraged to expand their skills and certifications through company provided training and mentoring. This is a career opportunity to become a member of a highly successful, fast paced team with a steady and growing backlog of large projects.Must be able to use a computer and a general knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and photo management software is required. Must have own vehicle, a valid driver's license and clean driving record required. Must be willing to travel throughout North Carolina.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
