Job Description: The Construction Materials Technician is responsible for the testing of asphalt to ensure adherence to federal, state, and/or customer specifications. Operate a standup counterbalance forklift efficiently and safely at the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor and in conjunction with Shipping/Receiving Workers. Pull product that does not meet acceptable quality limits and reconcile product. Backfill for the Quality department as needed. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Receive and follow instructions from Warehouse Supervisor regarding the movement and loading of products. Complete required training to operate the standup counterbalance forklift safely. Operate forklifts safely and efficiently, which includes, but is not limited to charging batteries, ensuring safety devices are functioning properly and ensuring no other workers are in path of the forklift. Observe surroundings at all times when operating forklift to ensure clear pathways and avoid collisions. Place product on hold when it does not meet AQLs. Reconcile product that has been placed on hold. Counting inventory of product places on hold. Pull pallets of product for samples. Verify and print labels on the label machine. Backfill for the Quality Department as needed. Report all product standard deviations to Production Supervisor to initiate immediate correction protocol. Inform the Plant FSQA Manager and Plant FSQA Supervisor of any food safety/quality issues or concerns. Verify the acceptability of ingredients and packaging materials based on internal specification for the product. Document and maintain concise and accurate records for Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP). Adhere to instructions and safety procedures provided by Warehouse Supervisor/ Manager at all times. Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations. Support all safety, food quality and sanitation initiatives and policies. Follow SugarCreek safety rules and procedures. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
