Candidate must be part of the 8-Step Process of instruction and remediation. Candidate must be able to effectively communicate with students and parents. When appropriate, candidate must be a cooperative member of the Small Learning Community - Freshman Academy, and must attend Freshman Academy Team meetings.
Qualifications: Must hold a current High School Level License/Certification in
Mathematics in grades 9-12, and be Highly Qualified. A Masters Degree or higher is preferred. An ideal candidate will also have AP Certification in Calculus. Additionally, an ideal candidate will hold a current License/ Certification in Technology Education and/or in a Science discipline. Experience teaching varying levels of high-school math courses is preferred. Previous experience teaching in an urban high-school setting is preferred. Candidate must not have had a recommendation for Probation Assistance on their most recent evaluation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Job Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to join our team. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for providing instruction and support to students with special needs, ensuring that they receive appropriate educational services and accommodations.

Provides tutoring assistance to freshmen students enrolled in Algebra I under the guidance of high school math teachers to improve students' math proficiency. Support student comprehension during core instructional time, inside of the classroom. Tutors will work with students one-on-one as well as in small groups as directed by the math teacher. Tutors will meet with math teachers to determine the most successful path for providing support to students in the Algebra I classrooms. (Note: Successful completion of Algebra I in high school is critical to students staying on track to graduate on time. Failing this core class in the 9th grade reduces the amount of time students have to take additional math classes required for graduation and can put students behind in terms of credit accumulation. Role and Responsibilities Reporting to the Principal, the PSOE Recovery Teacher will maintain a continuous learning environment for students in Recovery, a tiered MTSS-based student behavioral support system. They will provide direct instruction and feedback to students. Additional responsibilities include maintaining compliance with Individual student Education Plans, Section 504 Plans, etc. They will ensure operational and functional knowledge of best practices in education, state and federal education law, FERPA and FAPE law, parent relations, behavioral management, documenting and reporting, and process-driven accountability.
