Maintain a safe, orderly, and supportive classroom by modeling expected behavior and standards, promoting positive interactions, and quickly addressing behaviors that are not in line with the school discipline plan. Improve skills and knowledge in teaching by regularly taking classes, attending workshops, and discovering new methods of delivering exciting content to students. Work with school administration to develop curriculum, revise school policies, and implement new technology. Applicant should be working towards a Bachelor's degree or a beginning professional in biology, environmental education, or a related field or possess equivalent experience. Position starts mid/late May, ends mid/late August. Since driving is an essential part of the job, you must have a current, valid driver's license and complete a pre-employment drug screening. Job requirements require occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs., walking up and down stairs, and working outside in the heat and rain with biting invertebrates. Animal handling experience is a plus.
