REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education JOB GOAL: Under limited supervision, provides high-quality, standards-based instruction in a homebound setting for a student qualifying for services. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Addresses specific educational needs of an individual student by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment and providing feedback to parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
* Using the Individualized Education Program (IEP) as a guide, selects appropriate instructional materials and media to achieve the goals and objectives specified for the student.
* Strives to maximize the educational achievement of the student.
* Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media which are appropriate to the achievement of the goals and objectives specified in each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
* Assesses on an ongoing basis student progress toward the acquisition of goals and objectives listed in the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
* Maintains accurate and complete records as required by district policy and administrative regulations.
* Utilizes current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles.
* Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal/assistant principal and district office administrators as designated by the superintendent.
* Adheres to a professional code of ethics which includes confidentiality of school related matters and loyalty to the school district.

Physical Demands
Handle work which deals mostly with people, objects, equipment in a general setting; depth perception and field of vision are important. Employee regularly is required to bend, stoop, twist, turn, reach, lift (up to 50 pounds), carry, pull, push, climb, and kneel; walking and standing approximately 50-75% of each shift. Employee must recognize differences in sound, such as voices/noises that are loud and playful instead of angry and combative; ability to differentiate tones and volumes in conversation.
Mental Demands
The Teacher must ensure that children are supervised at all times, and that children are involved in safe and appropriate activities. There may be a number of situations happening at once, and the Teacher must be prepared to handle accidents and emergencies at any time.

Teach/tutor in-center, online, and/or via hybrid delivery using the Mathnasium Methodâ„¢, terminology, and teaching practices
Work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting
Assess students' learning progress and engagement throughout instructional sessions
Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes
Support the maintenance of a safe and professional learning environment
Qualifications:
Passion for math and working with students
Excellent interpersonal skills
Eagerness to learn and be trained
Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I
Ability to balance various ongoing tasks
All applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency, provide work authorization, and pass a background check. Compensation: $15.00 per hour

Teach two seventh grade and two eighth grade math classes.
Lead two enrichment periods.
Run two homeroom periods including iPad distribution and collection.
Deliver structured, aligned math lessons.
Support struggling learners with targeted help.

Experience You Will Need
Illinois Professional Educator License, PEL with Middle Grades or Secondary Mathematics endorsement.
