PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT
The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
SUMMARY: Perform a full range of educational/non-educational duties for the specific intensive needs of primarily one student.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Provide instructional and behavioral support in all academic and related areas as directed by the teacher primarily for an individual student.
Provide support to special education teacher such as preparing materials, assist in the implementation of IEP (Individualized Education Plan), provide input into the IEP when appropriate, deliver instructional materials for individual students, keep attendance and activity records, collect data for progress monitoring, and implement behavior intervention plans.
Administer all medications, within the guidelines of District Policy JLCD to students and document appropriately as identified in District policy. District Area Nurse will delegate medication administration to Para-Educator. Para-Educator will follow medication administration protocols and guidelines under the Department of Health Services and will be monitored, documented, and audited by the District Area Nurse.
Perform assigned lunch/recess/bus duties which include supervision in the cafeteria, playground and pre/post boarding of buses.
Perform health and personal need duties as directed by teacher or nurse, including bathroom assistance, diapering, feeding and lifting students.
Apply de-escalation strategies and manage classroom behavior.
Perform restraints, if required or applicable, after attending district approved trainings.
Participate in required Medicaid and Random Moment in Time Study provider trainings. Document personal care and/or delegated nursing services on a regular basis in EZEDMed system for Medicaid reimbursement purposes.
Maintain confidential information as directed.
Provide support for any student as directed.
Attend district-provided trainings and professional development as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Primary Duties
Math Center tutors assist with answering students' math questions on a drop-in basis. Students who visit the Math Center may be enrolled in classes that range from Introductory Algebra to Differential Equations, with the majority of students being in College Algebra.
List of Job Duties:
* Ensure students sign in and sign out to help keep track of traffic in the Math Center at different times and days throughout the semester
* Work alongside another instructor and/or student hourly to answer students' math questions from a wide range of courses
* Submit bi-weekly timesheets to report hours worked in the Math Center, as well as leave requests for any absences that occur
Required Competencies
Math Center Student Hourlies should have a strong understanding and fluency of mathematics and its notation, ranging from basic math to Calculus. They should also have the desire and ability to patiently communicate math concepts to others, including those who struggle to learn math.

* Must be a FRCC student enrolled in at least 6 credits for the current semester

from entry-level to advanced level. This position works under the direction of the Tutoring Coordinator and LEP Associate Director. LEP Tutors assist students in building confidence, independence, and academic skills in a one-on-one setting. Tutors are also responsible for providing students with access to resources that will encourage them to achieve academic goals. Tutoring at the LEP is NOT teaching and potential applicants will need to clearly understand the difference between teaching and tutoring.
Hours worked are based on student request and student needs during Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters with additional hours to be approved and/or required by the LEP Tutoring Coordinator.
All LEP Tutors fall under the direct supervision of the LEP Tutoring Coordinator. Each tutor is assigned to a Lead Tutor who will act as their tutor mentor during their time as an LEP Tutor.
The Learning Effectiveness Program is a unique program that serves students who are neurodiverse learners. Our students are individuals who require competent and skilled tutors to assist them in learning academic, and some non-academic skills needed to be successful at DU. All new tutors must complete the online New Tutor Orientation training as well as the first 5 hours of the CRLA Certification on canvas before the end of the quarter they were hired in (or within 10-week timeframe). The Learning Effectiveness Program participates in the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) Level I and Level II Certification (************************************************************************************** we expect that each tutor will participate in the required training activities to maintain our LEP tutoring standards and CRLA Level I AND II Certification status. These activities include, but are not limited to:
Complete the online LEP New Tutor Orientation to become familiar with LEP students' needs, working with neurodiversity, and learning to apply the principles of Universal Design for Learning in tutoring sessions.
Work toward earning the necessary 10 hours of CRLA Level I Certification training during the first year as an LEP Tutor.
Attend any/all supplemental trainings and tutor meetings throughout the year as directed by the Tutoring Coordinator.
Failure to attend required tutoring meetings or completing required tutor tasks such as maintaining attendance records and completing tutoring assessments will result in removal from this role.
Complete AT LEAST 25 hours of tutoring during the academic year to meet the CRLA Level I requirements.

Helps students stay accountable before and during tutoring appointments.
Completes all Tutoring Assessments in a timely manner and clearly communicates what was covered in the session and the resulting outcomes.
Communicates via phone, email, or in-person on a consistent basis with the Tutoring Coordinator/Lead Tutor to update them with any questions, comments, or concerns they may have regarding LEP tutoring.
Attends required trainings and tutor meetings throughout academic year.
Keeps schedule updated and actively communicates with Tutoring Coordinator, students, and Lead tutor regarding cancellations of appointments.
Additional tasks as needed and requested by the Tutoring Coordinator.
LEP Tutors must meet expectations of LEP Department, Tutoring Coordinator, and are subject to termination after violating policies and procedures, receiving over three negative feedback reports from students, or any other violations, conduct, or behavior deemed inappropriate by the Tutoring Coordinator and/or the LEP.
Tutors who do not complete initial tutor training by the end of the quarter they were hired in (or within 10-week timeframe) will be removed from their role and must re-apply. Initial Tutor Training on Canvas must be completed and LEP Tutor must have their active schedule loaded in Accudemia by WEEK 10 of the quarter they were hired (or within 10 week timeframe) in order to continue in the role of LEP Tutor. LEP Student Tutors must be currently enrolled in DU classes.
Undergraduate students: Must be in Sophomore year or higher.
Tutors must have a 3.0 GPA or higher in the specific subject to be tutored and must provide the Tutoring Coordinator with a letter of recommendation from a faculty/staff member within their field.
Will need to provide unofficial transcript to prove grades on courses that they want to tutor or show equivalent professional experience in subject area.

Work Schedule
This is a part-time, non-benefitted position. The hours for this position are flexible. Tutors can set their hours of availability but will only be paid for actual tutoring time. Tutor hours are dependent up on student appointment requests. There are other paid opportunities such as Prep time, Admin time, and time spent on professional development activities required by the Tutoring Coordinator. Tutors may not work over 40 hours per week, or 80 hours per 2-week pay period. LEP Tutors as Part-time non-benefitted employees, may not work over 1000 hours across all university jobs from January 2026-December 2026.
All new tutors are required to complete the New Tutor Orientation online training and the CRLA Level 1 (Basics of Tutoring) online training before they will be allowed to begin tutoring.
