Where does tutoring occur?
All tutoring takes place in The Otis Hawkins Center for Academic & Personal Excellence located inside Farrior Hall on campus. Hours of operation are below.
Fall and Spring:
Monday - Thursday 8am - 10pm, Friday 8am - 5pm and Sunday 4-10pm.
Summer A:
Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 9pm and Friday 8:30am - 3pm.
Summer B:
Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 10pm, Friday 8:30am - 3pm, Sunday 6-9pm.
Can I tutor if I have another job on campus?
Yes. The University Athletic Association is a separate entity from UF. All tutors must complete UAA HR paperwork and attend a new tutor orientation even if they are a UF employee.
How will I be notified if I am considered for a tutoring position?
Applicants will be contacted via e-mail if their qualifications match with our current tutor needs.
Note:
If an applicant does not hear from us, it means their skills are not needed for the current semester. There is no need to resubmit an application since all applications will be placed in a file for future consideration.
What happens if I am selected to be a tutor?
If an applicant is selected, they will be contacted by a member of the Learning Services staff. Candidates will then attend a UAA tutorial orientation. They will also be required to attend a mandatory compliance and new hire orientation. During the orientation, they will learn about all tutorial procedures.
We will carefully review application materials and match applicants with our current areas of need. Qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview. Please note that applications are accepted and reviewed year-round. If hired, you will be required to complete the federal Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9.
