Student Evaluation & Assessment: Use criterion and norm-referenced tests to assess pupils' visual functioning, communication, motor, social, self-help, academic, vocational, and cognitive skills. Determine eligibility and appropriate placement.
IEP Development: Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) with measurable goals and objectives based on assessments, child development principles, and learning continuums.

Education & Credentials: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution. Current Illinois (PEL) Professional Educator License with Teacher of Students Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired Endorsement.
Specialized Skills: Proficiency in braille reading and writing, and use of technological devices and optical aids. Certification or background in orientation and mobility. Knowledge of Braille, large print, and talking software technology.

for applicants who are interested in tutoring in-person at our Winnetka office. Please note that this is not a full-time position, and it will not be a good fit for those seeking full-time work; while average hours per week vary drastically from instructor to instructor, most of our instructors average around 8-12 instructional hours per week.

About our Content Quiz:
Please note that--due to the nature of this tutor/instructor position--all candidates will need to complete a content quiz that includes verbal and math questions prior to being considered for an interview. This (untimed) quiz should take approximately 30-45 mins to complete.
About our Training:
We believe strongly in our robust training, which for this role includes approximately 33 hours of combined synchronous and asynchronous work. This (paid) training module (which we call our 1-on-1 Gateway Training) typically takes place over the course of 2-3 weeks. All synchronous sessions are conducted virtually.

Saga Education's Lead Math Tutors manage a small caseload of middle or high school students and promote academic success by focusing intently on providing high-dosage, high-impact tutoring that includes daily individualized instruction to students. What You Will Be Doing:
Provide students with homework help, check work, subject tutoring, and assist with test preparation
Teaching math, grammar, and reading using LinkIt, Moby Max, and Edmentum Apex Learning. Training is available
Provide enrichment activities that improve students knowledge and academic skills
Supervising students as an authority figure or managing student groups

We are currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning center at GradePower Learning Naperville. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching the ins and outs of language and math, among other subjects, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.
Teacher-Tutors at GradePower Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.
Position Requirements:
All Teacher-Tutors at GradePower Learning work during after-school and evening hours Monday - Thursday (3:00pm - 8:00pm), Friday (3:00pm - 7:00pm), and Saturday (8:00am - 4:00pm) at least 2 days a week. A commitment for the entire school year is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.
This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
