About the Role - MathTutor
The mission of Tutor Doctor is to change the trajectory of students' lives. As a MathTutor, you will help students gain mastery and confidence in mathematics through patient, clear, and encouraging instruction.
Key responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one mathtutoring to students ranging from elementary through college level.
Support students in mastering skills in arithmetic, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, statistics, and standardized test math sections.
Break down complex math concepts into clear, manageable steps tailored to each student's learning style.
Assist with homework, test preparation, and conceptual understanding.
Foster problem-solving skills and mathematical reasoning beyond memorization.
Encourage a growth mindset, helping students view challenges as opportunities for improvement.
Track and communicate student progress through a written session report after every tutoring session.
Requirements:
Strong proficiency in math subjects, ideally up to advanced high school or college-level coursework.
Ability to explain mathematical concepts in multiple ways to reach different learning styles.
Prior tutoring or teaching experience in math preferred.
Reliable transportation to meet students at their homes or local libraries.
Comfortable working independently and adapting lessons to individual student needs.

Organizational Function and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for instruction in the Mathematics program at the non-transfer college level. This includes developing a relevant and progressive curriculum, designing and implementing effective learning strategies and environments, delivering instruction of high quality, assessing student learning, advising students, and participating in college service activities at the department, division and college levels.
This position reports to the Associate Dean - School of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Essential Duties:

1. Responsible for facilitating student learning in the Mathematics program, including but not limited to the following courses: College Mathematics, Elementary Algebra with Applications, Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Math Analysis, Finite Mathematics, Calculus, Statistics, Technical Mathematics, Machine Tool Mathematics, and Vocational Mathematics.
2. Develop and plan appropriate instructional strategies and alternative delivery strategies when appropriate including but not limited to hybrid, face-to-face and on-line course delivery.
3. Participate in in-service meetings, staff development training or other activities or programs requested by the Department.
4. Assist and advise students who have problems with assignments, tests, grades, course content, career concerns, and other academic matters.

The Richardson School is now seeking a Long-Term Substitute Teacher for their Madison campus!
--> The LTS position is a 12 week position or until the vacancy is filled.
The Richardson School is an alternative placement option for local districts to access for their students with significant needs and behavioral concerns. Our students are typically diagnosed with a combination of developmental or neurological disabilities and emotional, behavioral or mental health disorders. The school calendar follows the typical 180 educational days with the opportunity to attend Extended School Year for students in need of this programming.
CORE COMPETENCIES:
Collaborate with Education Leadership team to understand the overall classroom structure, schedule, student dynamics, and learning paths for the different subject areas.
In the absence of the classroom teacher and need for classroom supplies, submits purchase requests for reimbursement to immediate supervisor for prior approval.
Reviews and becomes familiar with all education student records on each incoming student assigned to him/her.
Demonstrates familiarity with total curriculum by using resources to plan students' learning.
Meets with Education Leadership team as needed to discuss students' progress and program; to discuss implementing IEPs (including BIPs) and crisis plans within the academic setting.
Meets with Instructional Coach as requested to plan implementation of academic instruction.

Reads day school communication logs, daily reports, records, memos, etc. to remain updated on student daily behavioral and academic needs.

Implements recommendations made on student plans, regarding specific student needs or areas for skill development (i.e. sensory, relaxation, modified materials).
Attends Staff and Team Meetings as schedule allows, providing feedback and relevant information.

Participates in IEP meetings and in the development of IEPs or other educational plans that may be needed to support students' learning and provides feedback regarding effectiveness.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The teacher shall be a mature, sincere Christ-follower, college graduate, certified or certifiable, who feels called by God to the teaching profession.
Must hold a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
PREFERRED/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
ACSI Certified Teacher
Stateof Wisconsin certified teacher or substitute teacher.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
New Substitute Teachers:$130.00 per day (
New substitute teachers are those who have worked fifteen (15) or fewer teaching assignments at HPCS)
Experienced Substitute Teachers:$150.00 per day (
Experienced substitute teachers are those who have worked more than fifteen (15) teaching assignments at HPCS)
Retired Substitutes:$180.00 per day (
Those who have worked at an Impact Christian School for a minimum of ten years and are officially retired)
Support Staff Substitutes:$12.50 per hour (
Non-teaching substitute assignments)

Academic Tutor Responsibilities
Tutors work one-on-one and in small groups with high school students to help them prepare for and succeed in their classes. Tutors use students' current work, supplemented by additional materials, to work with these students. Tutors report to the Education Director, who conducts initial tutor trainings, facilitates ongoing professional development for tutors, and keeps in touch with tutors throughout their work with our families.
Tutors are needed for middle and high school students for math, science, writing, world languages at all levels including Honors and Advanced Placement.
Qualifications
Previous experience in education as a teacher or tutor;
Flexibility in evenings and/or weekends;
Willingness to commit to at least six hours per week (with opportunity for more hours if desired) during summer and school year;
