Teach four sections/term; two to three preps per trimester.
Two seasons of coaching or equivalent co-curricular commitment, including at least one season of interscholastic coaching (or the equivalent).
Advise five to eight students.
One evening a week of "House duty," providing supervision in a student residence from 6-11:30 pm.
Faculty who reside in School-provided housing are expected to spend eight years living in one of the residential houses at some point in their career; although not necessarily starting their first year.
Chaperone a weekend activity (dance, coffee house, etc.) twice per term.

BASIC FUNCTION
The New JerseyTutoring Corps Inc. provides high-impact tutoring for K through Grade 8 students in math and literacy to close learning gaps. The New JerseyTutoring Corps seeks to hire substitute tutors to work with scholars in partnership with local education agencies (LEAs). Substitute tutors will work with small groups of scholars, typically in groups of 1-4, in grades K-8, in building skills in math and literacy. This is a per diem position where you would be on call as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Engage with scholars in grades K-8 to build on existing mathematics and/or literacy skills;
Complete daily records on scholar progress and site needs using the tools provided;
Use data to drive instruction;
Communicate regularly with your site coordinator to provide optimum learning- experiences for scholars;
Participate in coaching from an instructional coach;
Use an asset-based approach in working with scholars;
Be responsive and work collaboratively with other tutors and site staff;
Complete all training;
Complete other duties as assigned.
EMPLOYER QUALIFICATIONS
Substitute tutors must be able to:
Arrive to work on time,
Prepare lessons digitally,
Take attendance digitally and sit with students for 4-8 hours a day,
Clearly communicate instructions to students in grades K through 8.
Professional skills include attention to detail, timely and proactive communication, and job preparedness;
MUST have a Gmail email address or be willing to create a Gmail account; and experience with Google Suite applications: Google Doc, Sheets and Forms.
Genuine desire to work with young children in a teaching capacity, building on foundational skills and closing learning gaps using formative and summative data and strong teaching pedagogy;
