Position Summary
The Part-time Academic Peer Tutor works with students to support them both in their coursework and their development as learners. In addition to subject area proficiency, this position requires the capability of negotiating multiple subjects in a dynamic setting; the ability to comprehend and execute verbal and written directions; the competencies of sound judgment and initiative when working in the absence of supervision; and the capacity to maintain confidentially within the Ozarks Tech Tutoring Centers.
Essential Job Duties
* Facilitate student learning, helping students develop the skills and learn the concepts necessary to complete their academic goals.
* Assist students only in the subject(s) for which they are qualified based on grades and faculty recommendations.
* Seek to encourage and build student esteem and show respect to all students regardless of the level of knowledge or course level.
* Seek assistance from other tutors, supervisors, textbook resources, and other instructors in their subject area whenever uncertain about how to respond to a student's need or question.
* Complete all training requirements including obtaining the College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) Certification Level I within the first full year of employment.
* Be friendly and courteous to all students and staff.
* Communicate in a professional and timely manner with other staff.
* Follow all college policies and ARC and Ozarks Tech Tutoring Centers expectations, maintaining confidentiality and respect for all users.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the tutor's supervisor.

2) You'll need to create an account and apply for a sub certificate through DESE - *************************************************** Documentation of your Frontline training completion OR official transcripts showing 60 hours will need to be mailed to them as well as diploma, etc.
3) You'll need to fill out the Substitute application on our district webpage.

5) *Fill out the other payroll paperwork including the Substitute Preference sheet and return to the office.
