Role Overview:
The Building Substitute provides critical, flexible support to students, classrooms, and the building at large that help our schools ensure that a) learning is maximized for students every day and b) successful, smooth day-to-day operations. Achievers Early College Prep is excited to grow a team of high school teachers who are committed to continuously improving curriculum and instruction through collaboration. Teachers in this position must be able to do the following:
Expert in content knowledge in History, Geography, Political Science, Social Sciences, Criminal Justice, or the Humanities
Demonstrates strong proficiency in literacy skills
Experience/comfort with online applications to enhance learning
Design and implement curriculum and assessments that measure progress towards academic standards
Use data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices
Receptive to weekly coaching and committed to growing and strengthening practice
Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior
Implement multiple techniques for increased student engagement and checking for understanding
Will be accountable for students' mastery of academic standards
Familiarity with Google Classroom & Apps for Education and virtual meeting platforms
Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferred
Teaching experience in an upper elementary, middle, or high school with an underserved population
Adept interpersonal and communication skills to diverse audiences
Valid NJ Teacher Certification completed or in progress

We ensure that all of its teachers have everything that they need to be successful in the classroom. This includes providing a comprehensive curriculum, coaching and mentorship, and professional development at no cost.
We have an on-site, high school history teaching opportunity available for the 2025-2026 school year. Payment varies and depends on your teaching project, ranging from $400 to $1,100 weekly. Our payment structure also includes holidays and school breaks.

Our teachers may come from diverse backgrounds and have work experience in a wide range of careers, but they all share a common goal: having a positive impact on student learning, growth, and development.
