The Senior Control Systems Engineer I is responsible for performing control system design, programming and start up on various industrial projects. The Sr. Controls Systems Engineer I will be part of a project team from inception through construction completion. The role will act as a discipline lead for control systems on projects, managing internal and external resources as assigned/required.

* Serves as discipline lead on projects, and manages the discipline work to achieve schedule, budget, scope, and quality objectives.
* Routinely prepares progress and status updates for discipline work.
* Leads the design of facility control systems architecture.
* Solicits and reviews bids for all manner of control systems equipment and services for industrial facility FEED and EPC stages.
* Leads the design of industrial facility control system hardware. Prepares control system documents such as lists, reports, specifications, test documents, and datasheets.
* Utilizes and updates template specifications and documents to prepare deliverables.
* Manages the preparation of and checks entire control system drawing and specification packages for the construction of large industrial facilities.
* May conduct project site startup activities including process control loop checkout and troubleshooting, network performance testing and troubleshooting, and acceptance testing.
* Performs other related duties, as directed.
Qualifications
* BS in Engineering required; MS degree preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred.
* Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is desirable.
* 6+ years related engineering experience.
* Deep understanding of PFD's and P&ID's.
* Proficiency in ISA standards and PLC programming.
* Demonstrable success in the detailed design of industrial process facility control system architectures, control systems, control panels, networks, software, and field wiring is required.
* Significant experience designing, programming, and commissioning process control systems including PLC, HMI, DCS, and historian systems.
* Expert proficiency with a variety of programming techniques (Ladder logic, Function Block, Structured Text, etc.)
* Functional knowledge of various communications protocols (Ethernet IP, Control Net, Modbus RTU/TCP, Profibus, Profinet, etc.)
* Expert proficiency with Rockwell Automation tools (Factory Talk View, Studio 5000, Historian, etc.)
* Functional experience with equivalent Automation tools by Schneider, Siemens, GE and Wonderware is a plus.
* Working knowledge of Variable Frequency Drive setup, programming, and troubleshooting (AB Powerflex in particular)
* Fundamental understanding and experience designing and commissioning closed-loop control systems.
* Fundamental understanding of basic signal analysis and digital filtering techniques
* Experience working within a computer aided engineering (CAE) platform is preferred.
* Experience preparing FEED study deliverables and cost estimates is preferred.
* Familiarity with tools and techniques for tracking progress against budget, scope, and schedule.
* Demonstrates strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously under time sensitive deadlines.
* Exhibits excellent listening, oral and written skills; ability to prepare and make project related presentations to clients is desirable.
* Occasional overtime will be required.
* Travel will be required to project sites to support start-up of controls systems.

Project Engineer

Purpose:
The Project Engineer (PE) works with our team of other Engineers, Sales, and field staff to support Maxim's fleet of rental equipment. The PE will assess project lifting requirements and develop accurate technical drawings and supporting documentation for equipment installations and lift plans. The PE's responsibilities include the gathering information needed to produce detailed drawings and specifications, calculate crane and rigging requirements, as well as evaluate the feasibility and details for effective tower crane and hoist installations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews project drawings and plans to verify designs, perform calculations, and use modeling methods to ensure correct results.
Develops crane layout and rigging details for crane lifts in private, commercial, and industrial settings.
Liaises with Architects, Engineers, contractors, and Maxim team members to gather product information and to establish the job requirements for the project.
Creates and presents structural overviews for upcoming projects and develops reports that include technical details for engineers as well as big-picture analysis.
Uses AutoCAD and other drafting software programs to create 2D design documents and 3D models for individual components and overall structural plans according to client needs and project requirements for deliverables.
Prepares documentation for customers covering project plans and progress, and other relevant information.
Prepares ground bearing pressure calculations for track mounted and outrigger-based cranes.
Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or other related engineering degree.
EIT Certificate is preferred.
Experience:
0 to 4 years of previous relevant engineering experience.
Skills/Knowledge:
Moderate level knowledge of applied geometry and statics.
Advanced level organizational and problem-solving skills.
Advanced level presentation and documentation preparation skills.
Moderate level ACAD skills - 3D ACAD skills are preferred.
Basic to moderate level knowledge of AISC Steel Construction Code and connection design.
Basic to moderate level knowledge of structural analysis techniques.

Job Title: Project Engineer
Overview:
The Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring projects proceed safely, accurately, and smoothly. This position reports to, collaborates with, and follows the direction of the Project Manager and Superintendent.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform daily reports, monitor daily work activities for production and schedule tracking.
Create and manage pertinent construction documentation such as submittals, RFI's, change orders, notifications and correspondence.
Strong ability to command daily/ weekly and monthly meetings.
Strong written and verbal skills pertinent in developing and maintaining client, owner, subcontractor and vendor relationships.
Complete equipment usage reports and assign proper equipment cost codes.
Ensure proper completion of equipment return/receipt reports.
Obtain, evaluate, submit and track all submittals to owners/customers.
Prepare monthly pay requests for Project Manager approval.
Obtain material quotes from suppliers and submit purchase orders for approval.
Accurately track, maintain, report counts of materials used, and on-hand required.
Prepare, track project RFI's and submittals.
Track invoices, receipts for field purchase orders and maintain field purchase order files.
Create and file documentation (e.g., correspondence, reports) in Primavera and expedition on a daily basis to follow-up on and/or summarize project issues, agreements, communications with owners and subcontractors, etc.
Review, understand plans, and drawings for heavy civil projects.
Assist in maintaining construction schedules in P6.
Assist and manage jobsite document control.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
2+ years of relevant experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer or QC Tech on heavy civil projects.
Primavera CPM scheduling or similar, and CAD knowledge.
Ability to work with a fast-paced team in an aggressive construction environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Experience working on USACE projects.
Experience supervising operations teams is a plus.
Strong capabilities to multitask, work independently under pressure, and within tight deadlines.
Background check and drug testing.
Prior heavy civil site project experience such as water control, levee, concrete, and mass excavation experience are a plus.
