The Team: The Global Security Team is responsible for the protection of people, assets, and reputation of Mattel. We accomplish this by hiring, training, & developing top security and investigation professionals, implementing effective policies, collaborating with others, and by leveraging existing and emerging technologies. The Opportunity: As a Security Officer you play an important role in protecting Mattel's employees, guest (s), product(s) and brands. The ideal candidate is flexible, collaborative, detail oriented, has strong communication skills, and prioritization skills. This position is located at Mattel's global headquarters in El Segundo Ca. This is an on-site position and includes weekend and holiday work. Schedules may vary based on business needs. What Your Impact Will Be: Support Mattel's GlobalSecurity Strategy to protect people, assets, and Mattel's reputation by providing exceptional customer service and consistently applying policies and practices. Enforce Mattel Global Security policies and practices to create a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors. Completes security duties and related tasks as defined in the Contingency Operations and SOP manuals under the direction of the Security Leader/Shift Supervisor and Security Manager. Completes security patrols on foot patrols, in a vehicle and digitally to monitor the Mattel campuses for physical security, safety and facilities-related concerns. Effectively monitors the access control system, CCTV system, and the “guard tour” management system. Monitors the fire control panel for alarms and any problems with equipment. Reports any service/maintenance issues to Facilities personnel. Perform administrative data entry duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisors, for incident documentation and communications via the Microsoft suite. Ensure adherence to access control standards including the employee badge policy, visitor registration, temporary or contract worker check ins and intern badging along with other visitor types. Ensures parking lot safety by conducting traffic control, enforcing parking rules, accident investigations and response to emergency call box activations. Support IP (Intellectual Property) process surrounding confidentiality and controlled destruction of IP per Mattel standards. Additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor or manager. Flexibility to work on multiple shifts and or shift times to support business needs. This is an onsite position and does not allow for remote work. Qualifications What We're Looking For: Must be able to communicate effectively with the public and with all levels of the organization in the performance of daily duties via multiple communication methods and platforms Analytical abilities to think critically making clear, well-reasoned rational decisions. Ability to effectively respond to all types of situations in a confidential manner. Possess the ability to remain calm during an emergency or stressful situation. Working knowledge of PCs and software including MS Windows, Microsoft Office, CCTV and access control is a plus. Qualifications: One+ years of Security, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, Law Enforcement, or military background preferred. High school diploma or GED, required. Must have a valid driver's license. Must have a valid Security Guard License, (where required). Must be certified in First Aid, CPR, and Blood-borne Pathogens, OR be willing to obtain certification through training provided by Mattel (annual training provided). Must be able to work varying shifts including nights, holidays, and weekends. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business policies, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, and business correspondence, including detailed incident reports writing. Display exceptional customer service and communication skills. Ability to stand and walk, go up/downstairs and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Outdoor post assignments (where applicable) may require an individual to withstand extreme heat, humidity, cold, and/or severe weather (e.g. snow, sleet, rain, hail, wind). Ability to use post-security equipment (handheld and walk-thru metal detectors, handheld radios, access control systems, CCTV). *The pay range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base pay will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.
