Participate in all Safety and Security Committee Meetings, ensure completion of all required security reports. Ensures buildings are secure by overseeing security staff and maintaining communication with security system vendor(s). Reporting to the Behavioral Health Manager, the Patient Advocate will be responsible for the following to include, but not limited to: Provide advocacy, information, support, and resources to Montgomery County community members impacted by sexual violence. To assess adult and adolescent clients for appropriateness of wrap-around services, advocacy needs or outside referrals; assist clients in navigating all available options and providing support addressing various social determinants of health. Provide advocacy services to adult survivors of sexual assault, adolescent survivors of sexual assault, and the non-offending caregivers of child sexual abuse victims in Middle Tennessee. Advocacy services include but are not limited to safety planning, filing for victims' compensation, communicating between clients and law enforcement or other government agencies, accompanying clients to court, assisting clients in filing police reports, or obtaining orders of protection, and connecting clients to other community resources. Maintain appropriate and thorough documentation and electronic records. Participate in the Medical Accompaniment Program (MAP) by assuming on-call responsibilities to respond to survivors of sexual assault seeking Sexual Assault Forensic Exams (SAFEs) in Davidson County. Manage and train program volunteers (MAP Training), schedule and maintain volunteer hours, responsibilities, and records. Develop and maintain volunteer guidelines reference manual. Attend annual Victim's Compensation Training and provide an annual in-service to S.A.C. staff. Work in partnership with SART Coordinators to identify community partners in Middle Tennessee for collaborative relationships to enhance resources and support for survivors of sexual assault.
