Maxion Wheels company history timeline

1954

Following the trends in the Brazilian economic scenario, FNV had diversified its product line in 1954 and started a partnership with the highway segment.

1956

In 1956, FNV had been called to join a massive plan: manufacture trucks and national automobiles.

1958

In the second half of 1958, FNV began the manufacturing of side beams, following the production of wheels for cars and trucks.

1968

Jantaş was founded in 1968 by Cevdet İnci.

1970

One of the most important achievements of FNV was the installation and the beginning of operations of Steel Foundry in 1970 (Fundição de Aço). At that time, FNV used to have two presses of 3000 tons each.

1974

Cevdet İnci’s design was registered as a base patent the same year. It started production of wheels for agricultural and light trucks in 1974 at a plant based in Gaziemir.

1979

In 1979, Jantaş brought flow forming, which was a maiden technology even for Europe, to Turkey upon which production of wheels for large trucks was launched.

1990

In 1990, Iochpe-Maxion took over all its business Groups and was awarded an ISO 9000 in the automobile wheels line.

1992

Jantaş partnered with German Lemmerz in 1992 to produce steel wheels for passenger and light commercial vehicles, and Lemmerz İnci, first joint venture of the company, was founded.

1993

Operations were launched in 1993, at a new factory in Manisa Organized Industrial Zone.

1994

In 1994, the company acquired a line of medium sized presses to stamp trays and pick-ups side beams and an E-coat system for chassis and side beams had been installed.

Lemmerz İnci Steel was certified for ISO 9002:1994 Quality Management System.

1995

Hayes Lemmerz İnci Steel was certified for QS 9000:1995 Quality Management System.

1996

With Lemmerz being a partner to also Jantaş in 1996, the capacity rose to 800,000 wheels.

1997

In 1997, Lemmerz Jantaş moved to the factory in Manisa where modern production lines were in use.

1998

In 1998, due to the growth of its activities, Iochpe-Maxion decided to divide the company into two distinct units: one in the Railway segment and Foundry – Maxion – Foundry and Railway Equipments, and the other one in the Auto Parts and Highway Implements segment, a.k.a Maxion Structural Components.

2000

In 2000 Maxion began and implanted the Environmental Management System (S.G.A), aiming to obtain the ISO 14001.

Hayes Lemmerz Jantaş started to export 70% of its production in 2000, becoming the most preferred supplier in Europe.

2002

In order to immerse in a new niche of the market, in 2002 Maxion Structural Components started to manufacture stamped parts in small sizes with metal sheet thickness of 1mm and weighing around 300 g.

Ford Q1 Certification was acquired for Hayes Lemmerz Jantaş. Hayes Lemmerz İnci Aluminum was certified for ISO/TS 16949:2002 Technical Specifications.

2003

The company offers job opportunities to all genders, in 2003 women started working in the textile area and also in the light pressing.

2004

Hayes Lemmerz Jantaş and Hayes Lemmerz İnci Steel were certified for ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System.

2005

In 2005, Hayes Lemmerz İnci decided to produce aluminum wheels for passenger and light commercial vehicles in Manisa Organized Industrial Zone.

2006

The year of 2006 registered a new period in the company’s history: the building of a new warehouse for the assembling line and the manufacturing of side beams roll formed to supply clients that have a low level of production.

The first export to Japan automotive industry was made in 2006.

Production was launched in 2006, under the name of Hayes Lemmerz İnci Aluminum.

2008

Hayes Lemmerz İnci Steel was certified for ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System.

2012

To reach new markets, in 2012 Maxion Wheels and Chassis had acquired other ventures that culminated in the creation of two new divisions from Iochpe Maxion Group: Maxion Structural Components and Maxion Wheels.

2013

In 2013, Maxion celebrated 70 years of activities in the city of Cruzeiro-SP. Maxion now has 31 plants in 15 countries.

Maxion Jantaş, Maxion İnci Steel and Maxion İnci Aluminum were certified for ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Information Security Management System.

2014

In 2014, a new TOP Coat-finishing line has been launched.
