We are looking for an experienced and caring Preschool Teachers to oversee the classroom curriculum program following company guidelines and collaborate with the assistant teacher. The lead teacher is responsible to prepare age-appropriate lesson plans, create a welcoming and safe learning environment for the children, manage the classroom, and coach the assistant teacher. The ideal candidate is passionate, patient, has excellent communication skills and is comfortable interacting with parents and addressing any of their concerns. The Lead Teacher will follow all company and licensing rules and reports to the Center Director or the Assistant Director in her absence. Responsibilities: Early Childhood Educator: instruct preschool-aged children by following company-selected curriculum (Zoo-phonics; training will be provided) Attend (1-3) monthly trainings/staff meetings after hours. Keep the classroom clean, neat, and organized following company policies and standards of care. Arrive on time, consistent attendance is a must. Comply with all licensing rules and consult with Director when unsure. Communicate with parents on a regular basis on the child's progress and addresses any concerns professionally and with empathy. Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents. Coach and guide assistant teacher with clear instructions. DRDP Evaluations Qualifications: Current Child Development Teacher Permit (Associate and above) a Must At least 15 units of Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development units. Units must include core courses: Child Growth & Development; Child, Family & Community; Child Program & Curriculum; Infant & Toddler At least 2 years experience as a preschool teacher Passionate about working with children (infants through school age) and has a positive and patient demeanor. Must be able to work as part of a team and get along with various personalities. Willing to learn software applications and is adaptable to change. Experience with Title 5 preferred Experience with DRDP a plus Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Able to work occasional overtime if needed and attend scheduled staff meetings after hours. Possibility of class pets. During the year, we have different animals on site. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; able to sit on the floor and/or stand for extended periods of time.
