The International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) is recognized as an expert in lactation knowledge and experience in breastfeeding situations. The Lactation Consultant is available and collaborates with nursing units to provide a comprehensive lactation program which includes lactation services, education services, and continued program assessment. Lactation Consultants proactively talk with families before or assist soon after delivery with any perceived concerns. The IBCLC actively participates in Discharge Rounds. This Lactation consultant position functions collaboratively covering for lactation team members as needed at both hospitals and within the OB Clinic setting.
The lactation consultant is a clinical nurse expert working collaboratively to improve the quality of patient care and facilitate optimal outcomes in the establishment and maintenance of breastfeeding and lactation. Qualifications

If graduated from a nursing program that was not accredited by ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA, at least one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year is required.

**Responsibilities**
Native American Patient Experience Ambassador - Individual who knows the cultural, traditional, and healing and death practices of the Native Americans, and how to navigate within the Mayo system. The Patient Experience Ambassador is a liaison between our patients and Mayo Clinic. Assists the patient and family by coordinating and navigating complex components of the patient's overall experience. Provides oversight for the unique needs of the patient care experience and intervenes as necessary. Independently makes decisions and executes job duties. Additionally, provides internal education to care team members, providers and staff as needed. Has direct patient contact and frequent interaction with nurses, radiology techs, desk staff, door attendants, etc. Transport patients, visitors, and patient-related items in a safe and efficient manner. Provide detailed verbal communication to appropriate care team member as part of the handoff during drop off and pick up of patients which includes confirming patient identification. Functions independently and as a team member with minimal supervision and possesses knowledge in the use of a smart phone. Proper input and management of transport requests may be required via computer and/or with General Service dispatch via telephone. Safely operate multiple types of motorized patient transport equipment. Disinfect equipment after each patient use and request maintenance as needed. Perform wheelchair roundups to storage locations or designated floors.
Employees in this role will stand and/or walk 10-12 miles per 8-hour shift and frequently push/pull patients up to 200 pounds and occasionally up to or exceeding 350 pounds. Transport patients who require the use of oxygen, intravenous pumps, wound vacs and/or other special equipment. Uses various medical equipment and partners with the healthcare team to ensure patent safety and an oxygen warning card is completed. Understands and adheres to the medical isolation precautions, protocols, and PPE requirements. Confirm these precautions with Epic information and a member of the patient's care team. At the direction/assistance from member(s) of the medical care team, frequently perform lateral slide transfers with the use of a slider board and slider sheet to transfer patients to/from beds and/or stretchers and occasionally assist with hooking up/disconnecting ceiling lift slings.
Provide patient and visitor assistance as necessary. Transport critical care patients requiring Nurse and/or Respiratory Therapist accompaniment. Monitor patient's condition during transport when a patient care staff member is not accompanied. Be aware of the patient's medical condition while in route. Recognize and monitor changes in the patient's condition which may require a medical emergency call. Working hours may include days, evenings, overnights, holidays, and weekends with rotating days off. Staff may be required to attend meetings outside of normal work schedule and/or assist in the training of new employees. Minimum of 80 hours of on the job training is necessary to perform basic job functions.
Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and three years customer service experience required. One-year previous hospital, clinical or patient care experience preferred. Must be able to work independently and in a group setting with minimal supervision. Requires exceptional verbal communication skills as well as telephone and human relation skills to interact with patients, guests, and staff.
Must communicate effectively in a professional and respectful manner during high-stress situations. Must be able to adapt to unpredictable and stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and pleasant demeanor. Strong problem-solving skills are necessary. Must be able to demonstrate exceptional initiative and a proven ability to quickly respond to customer needs in a fast-paced work environment. The Dialysis Technician is responsible for providing specialized care for patients undergoing dialysis at Mayo Clinic. The Tech works with a Registered Nurse to provide basic dialysis care, including starting and stopping treatment, caring for patients during treatment, and maintaining dialysis equipment to ensure patient safety. The Clinical Hemodialysis Technician functions as an interdisciplinary team member to meet patient and family care needs within the Mayo Clinic Dialysis Services (MCDS) system. Under the supervision of the RN, is responsible for providing assistance in the provision of dialysis services through multiple roles. These roles include but are not limited to: direct patient care and observations, basic hemodialysis techniques and procedures, equipment maintenance, water treatment monitoring, vascular access monitoring, cleaning and disinfection of the hemodialysis machine, , drawing blood samples and preparing them for transport, and performing both simple and complex laboratory tests and the required quality controls. Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. Certified nursing assistant training course required OR one year of direct patient care experience in a hospital setting or other health care setting OR RN student with one semester of clinical coursework completed OR completion of a Dialysis Technician training program. Before employment, successful completion of the Ishihara's color blindness test.
Excellent communication skills. Computer skills. Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays and weekends. Ability to effectively work with multiple team members including working at/floating to other dialysis units. Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association (BLS for Healthcare Providers). Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers) Military Training Network. Successful completion of Clinical Hemodialysis Technician national certification exam, within 18 months of hire when hired after October 14, 2008. Exam offered by the State, BONENT, or NNCC.

The primary purpose of the Undergraduate Internship is to provide an intern with relevant field experiences in their chosen field of study. One or more mentors will be assigned to the intern to provide instruction, guidance and to assess performance. The Education Technology Center is looking for up to two interns for 9-12 month internships. Qualifications

Unit Technicians assist with patient care to support the nursing practice of the unit under the direction of a registered nurse and/or licensed medical professional. Has direct patient contact and frequent interaction with nurses, radiology techs, desk staff, door attendants, etc. Transport patients, visitors, and patient-related items in a safe and efficient manner. Provide detailed verbal communication to appropriate care team member as part of the handoff during drop off and pick up of patients which includes confirming patient identification. Employees in this role will stand and/or walk 10-12 miles per 8-hour shift and frequently push/pull patients up to 200 pounds and occasionally up to or exceeding 350 pounds. Transport patients who require the use of oxygen, intravenous pumps, wound vacs and/or other special equipment. Uses various medical equipment and partners with the healthcare team to ensure patent safety and an oxygen warning card is completed. Understands and adheres to the medical isolation precautions, protocols, and PPE requirements. Confirm these precautions with Epic information and a member of the patient's care team. At the direction/assistance from member(s) of the medical care team, frequently perform lateral slide transfers with the use of a slider board and slider sheet to transfer patients to/from beds and/or stretchers and occasionally assist with hooking up/disconnecting ceiling lift slings.
Provide patient and visitor assistance as necessary. Transport critical care patients requiring Nurse and/or Respiratory Therapist accompaniment. Monitor patient's condition during transport when a patient care staff member is not accompanied. Be aware of the patient's medical condition while in route. Recognize and monitor changes in the patient's condition which may require a medical emergency call. Working hours may include days, evenings, overnights, holidays, and weekends with rotating days off. Staff may be required to attend meetings outside of normal work schedule and/or assist in the training of new employees. Minimum of 80 hours of on the job training is necessary to perform basic job functions.
Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and three years customer service experience required. One-year previous hospital, clinical or patient care experience preferred. Must be able to work independently and in a group setting with minimal supervision. Requires exceptional verbal communication skills as well as telephone and human relation skills to interact with patients, guests, and staff.
Must communicate effectively in a professional and respectful manner during high-stress situations. Must be able to adapt to unpredictable and stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and pleasant demeanor. Strong problem-solving skills are necessary. Must be able to demonstrate exceptional initiative and a proven ability to quickly respond to customer needs in a fast-paced work environment.
