This position will be working 48 hours per two weeks on the day shifts (7am-3:30pm), at 8 hour shifts. The Vascular Access Technician (VAT) is responsible for proficiently inserting, assessing, and managing vascular access devices for inpatient and outpatient areas under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Recognizes need for and initiates securement to prevent dislodgement of VAD. * Evaluates patients and coordinates with RNs to determine the most appropriate VAD based on individual needs and established protocols. * Verifies medical orders ensuring patient safety throughout the process.
