Position Overview:
The Material Handler position exists to support production by receiving and/or transporting raw materials and packaging materials to specified areas. The individual will perform general material handling functions using forklift equipment. The environment includes indoor work, with exposure to forklift fumes and spice orders. In addition, individuals must work well with others in a supportive team environment in order to meet material handling quality and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
* Transport raw materials or packaging materials to specified areas for use and return them to their proper locations.
* Receives delivery of raw materials and performs required inventory control transactions.
* Complete and process required inventory control transactions according to company/department standards including scanning and printing tickets with barcode equipment.
* Process return, if excess material, according to department standards. Includes use of inventory management system (SAP) to adjust quantity in system to update inventory.
* Maintain materials in a manner that facilitates FIFO product rotation.
* Transport/store materials to maintain warehouse and/or production areas in a neat and orderly manner.
* Performs daily housekeeping duties in the production and/or warehouse areas including sweeping, collecting trash and collecting damaged product.
* Work with co-workers to insure effective production and/or warehouse operations to meet all material handling performance standards.
* Operate equipment in a safe manner and insure the equipment is in good working order by checking and reporting equipment problems.
* Follow all safety and Good Manufacturing guidelines.
Other Responsibilities:
* Work in other jobs positions under Materials Management as needed.
* Accurately enters information into the time clock to record cost center changes, time in and time out.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
* Must successfully complete material handling safety courses and obtain OSHA certification
* One year production or warehouse experience preferred
* Forklift experience preferred
* Must be familiar with Microsoft Windows
* Must have the ability to read, write and perform simple math calculations.
* Must be able to communicate effectively and work well with others.
* Must be able to work in a dusty environment with strong odors.
* Must be able to work overtime on a frequent basis and on weekends as required by scheduling/production demands.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Load and unload material from trucks and vans using a lift truck, clamp truck, manual jack, or dolly.
Operate trailer restraints, dock plates, overhead doors, banding, and wrapping equipment.
Deliver raw material, including roll stock, to production areas.
Collect loads of finished goods from the pressroom.
Weigh and count finished goods using computerized scale, prepare related documentation.
Verify inventory counts for production teams.
Deliver general inventory (skids, cartons, labels, etc.) to the pressroom.
Prepare finished loads for shipment, including flagging/labeling, wrapping, banding and staging.
Store materials in a neat and orderly fashion in the warehouse.
Accurately scan materials to and from warehouse, dock and production locations.
Check the accuracy of all shipping and receiving documents.
Assist in maintaining warehouse and facility security.
Assist in housekeeping for warehouse, scale, inside and outside and dock areas.
Inventory and maintain packaging and shipping supplies, including pallets, pallet tops, wrap, cartons, labels, banding and other related materials.
Inspect lift truck at start of shift and perform general shift maintenance.
Weigh and count empty pallets and deliver to pressroom as needed.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) as required.

What You Will Do
Safely operate a 10,000 lb. sit-down forklift to load and unload trailers
Ensure loads are properly secured and in good condition
Ensure accurate record keeping for all inbound and outbound shipments
Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
Perform general housekeeping duties to keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards.
Pull whip and raw material for production support
Verify receipts, load sheets, and other required paperwork
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Minimum of six (6) months of sit-down forklift experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Experience with inventory management and reconciliation in a warehouse setting.
Experience using a computer, tablet, or scan gun for documentation and/or record-keeping functions.
What Will Put You Ahead:
One (1) year of forklift experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Experience using KIWI, WMS or a similar operating system.

Below are the available shift schedules:
1st Shift (Monday to Thursday from 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM)

Associates earn double-time pay for all hours worked in excess of 50 hours in your standard work week!
Responsibilities:
Operates a forklift in a safe manner following all federal regulations and plant safety rules
Supplies the production lines with packaging materials, in-process materials, and/or finished product
Loads/unloads trucks and/or locates materials in designated storage areas
Assists in maintaining an accurate inventory through activities such as: proper reporting of material deliveries, minimizing wastes, reporting any spills
Maintain various inventory logs and equipment (RF scanner) to record material usage
Complete all paperwork accurately
Assists in physical inventories
Upholds acceptable level of housekeeping
Works in other areas as required by business needs.
Requirements:
Previous forklift experience in a manufacturing environment
Must be able to obtain a DAP forklift certification
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and stand for periods of up to 3 hours without a break
Must wear required PPE at all times throughout the shift (safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes)
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with others
