    We are seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to join our Water Civil preconstruction team in either one of our Phoenix, Dallas, or St. Louis offices. This role will assist the preconstruction team with all aspects of estimating, including quantity take-off, bidding, and estimate development of the civil scope on water and wastewater treatment plant projects across the country. The Estimator will lead the preparation of civil estimates for these projects which primarily include earthwork, sitework, and yard piping. Key Responsibilities: Develop civil cost models and GMP estimates for CMAR and Design Build construction projects Perform quantity take-offs Participate in the internal estimate review process and assist with final assembly of estimate presentation for owner Evaluate bids and develop scope comparison documents Prepare contractual exhibits for scope of work for subcontracts, and direct information/documents to subcontractors Collaborate with internal partners and engineers to help influence project design Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors and clients, and represent McCarthy at industry events Review of the project documents to identify value engineering suggestions and alternative pricing Communicate with engineers and owners to clarify scope of work, materials, and schedule requirements Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related major required Self-perform civil experience (preconstruction or operations) is strongly desired General technical knowledge of civil construction, with specific experience in water and wastewater treatment plant projects is preferred but not required. General knowledge of construction principles and processes, as well as cost model and GMP processes Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports General knowledge of estimating software including HCSS HeavyBid, AGTEK, and/or On-Screen Takeoff is preferable, but not required.
