The Salvation Army Northwoods Camp in Finlayson, MN, is “doing the most good” by providing summer camp opportunities to hundreds of youth from Salvation Army programs across Minnesota and North Dakota. The camp offers youth a safe, fun environment to develop physically, socially, and spiritually while participating in various activities, including swimming, fishing, boating, archery, music, and arts and crafts.
The Program Aide assists with camp activities, monitors camper safety, maintains equipment, helps with meal service, and fosters positive relationships. This role provides support for camper behavior and participates in spiritual activities, contributing to a safe, engaging, and supportive camp environment. The position requires on-site residence throughout the temporary summer employment.

Essential Functions (approximate time spent)
Support Camp Programs (20%): Actively participate in all assigned camp programs and activities, contributing to a positive and engaging experience for all campers.
Safety and Observation (20%): Monitor campers and program areas for health and safety concerns, reporting any issues promptly to ensure a safe environment.
Maintain Equipment (20%): Check and prepare program equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and readily available.
Meal Assistance (15%): Assist kitchen staff with meal service, including setup, serving, and cleanup, to ensure efficient and timely meal operations.
Build Positive Relationships (10%): Foster a positive rapport with campers and colleagues, promoting a supportive and inclusive camp atmosphere.

Education and Experience
Must be at least 15 years of age.
Experience working with children preferred.

Medication class requirements for RCA; requires an 8 hour class.
Resident Care Attendant must record a minimum of 8 hours of educational in-service per calendar year.
RCA's will be hired contingent upon passing the above no more than 2 attempts.
Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the residents served by Lake Song. In addition, must be able to report concerns or changes.
Must be familiar with utilization of computer. Experience in office suite strongly preferred.
