Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or related field.
* 5-8+ years of experience in supporting complex Gigabit Ethernet switched LAN networks, with in-depth knowledge of network protocols and configurations.
* Proven experience as a team leader or supervisory role in the network engineering environment.
* Strong understanding of Cisco and Palo Alto networks, experience with network scripting using Python or Ansible, and proficiency in managing heterogeneous network environments.
* Expertise in using network diagnostic and performance monitoring tools such as Wireshark, TCP-Dump, or similar.
* Certifications in Network Engineering are highly desirable.

As an Emergency Management Duty Officer, you will be the Laboratory's primary point of contact for incident notification and reporting and coordination of emergency and non-emergency activities and ensures the implementation of appropriate emergency plans, procedures, and checklists in accordance with Federal laws, DOE orders and other related DOE directives and guidance. The EMCC Duty Officer is responsible for making time urgent decisions to include categorization and classification of operational emergencies, initial protective actions, making time-constrained internal and external emergency notifications, assessing actual or potential impacts from severe weather, and assessing the need to activate the Emergency Response Organization (ERO).
Our primary mission is to protect life, property, and environment through the implementation and sustainment of a comprehensive emergency management system.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
+ Coordinate and support emergency and non-emergency activities with the Kirtland Fire Emergency Services (KFES), local, State, and federal agencies to include DOE/NNSA Headquarters Watch Office, Sandia Emergency Operations Center (when activated), and other Laboratory personnel and organizations, as applicable.

The Emergency Management organization is responsible for protecting the workforce, public, property, and the environment from all-hazards through the implementation of all phases of emergency management: preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation. Additionally, the Emergency Management program is comprised of an integrated team of emergency management and public safety professionals dedicated to protecting life, property, environment, and Sandia's reputation.
The Emergency Management organization and its partners prepare for emergencies through the development of comprehensive emergency plans and procedures and conducting training and drills. The program is validated through performance-based exercises to demonstrate emergency response capabilities and by conducting programmatic assessments as part of readiness assurance.

What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Appointee in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to research, design, and deploy next-generation agentic frameworks to accelerate scientific discovery, engineering design and advanced manufacturing and qualification strategies. The successful candidate will develop and deploy novel ML/AI architectures including generative, multi-agent, and simulation-informed models that can reason, plan, and collaborate in scientific contexts.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
+ Collaborate with domain experts across physics, manufacturing, and computational modeling to integrate AI solutions into complex simulation and scientific workflows.
+ Contribute to codebases that implement modular, containerized (e.g., Docker/Singularity) ML solutions for distributed computing environments.
+ Prototype AI frameworks that integrate simulation, optimization, and ML-driven reasoning for scientific or engineering workflows.
+ Develop and deploy machine learning pipelines in Python using frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Hugging Face Transformers.

Qualifications We Require:

About Our Team:
The Advanced Metal Processing Department and Rapid Development Machine Shop provides scientific and engineering expertise in the areas of advanced manufacturing, metal additive manufacturing and laser machining/surface modification. Advanced manufacturing includes the design and fabrication of components by conventional subtractive machining, additive manufacturing, electrical discharge machining (EDM), laser machining, laser etching/annealing, vacuum induction melting, and optical probe measurements. Metal additive manufacturing expertise includes alloy development, qualification/acceptance, and design. Current technologies utilized include laser powder bed, metal fused deposition (FDM), and powder and wire directed energy deposition (DED).
