The PayrollSpecialist - Corporate is responsible for ensuring payroll is processed correctly for their assigned divisions; verifying all payroll interfaces are balanced for each payroll cycle; producing off cycle checks as required; and providing documentation and training for their assigned divisions' accounting payroll clerks and driver payroll clerks as required.

Balance and validate payroll for each assigned division for each payroll cycle including\:

Key Responsibilities
Maintain all employee payroll data fields as well as monitor all changes received via self-service procurement. Keep accurate payroll records
Checking and auditing timekeeping records for compliance with established standards, process accurate payroll
Inspect automated system output such as registers and standard reports, determine and correct out-of-balance conditions, execute proper union due /fee processing and reporting
Ensure payroll processes are compliant with all Federal, State and Local rules and regulations and monitor relative Payroll websites for changes in any rule, law or regulation that would impact payroll information, process or reporting.
Document and update all Payroll procedures, working instructions and SOP's.
Process and maintain all voluntary deduction reports, involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments.
Assist the Tax Analyst in the proper and correct reporting of all Federal, State and Local taxes
Review ADP tax filings for accuracy and completeness, follow up on any discrepancies in a timely manner.

Job Summary: The PayrollSpecialist will be responsible for handling all aspects of the payroll function. The position requires managing multiple tasks throughout the day while maintaining a high level of accuracy in their work and production. This position involves managing employee complaints and questions regarding payroll as well as investigating and resolving any errors in payroll in a timely manner. This position also includes general HR administrative support. This position requires some travel to the various regions in which Mercy House operates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing and Compliance
Perform tasks to establish and maintain employee payroll records
Input, review, and audit timekeeping and other payroll-related records
Maintain time and attendance records
Enter new hires/terms into the payroll system
Post changes in pay, tax status, and other miscellaneous categories
Process support orders, garnishments, and voluntary deductions
Compute wages, overtime, and other types of pay
Calculate and record payroll deductions (voluntary and involuntary)
Process advance, termination, and other out-of-cycle payments
Reconcile earnings and deduction totals
Calculate and prepare general journal entries
Review output registers and reports and correct out-of-balance conditions
Prepare and file tax reports
Compile payroll data for management, auditors, and others
Team Support
Ensure that all employees receive timely responses to inquiries and questions.
Independently coordinate and communicate with all internal groups, hiring managers, and external parties (as required)
Address and resolve problems in a timely manner
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Perform administrative work as assigned

Attend staff meetings and quarterly trainings

About this opportunity
The driver payroll position has the important task of ensuring that drivers are paid correctly at all times, as Drivers are the heart of our company. Driver payroll works closely with various departments and directly with the drivers to provide excellent customer service.
Pay and Schedule
This position is Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. The pay range is $18-$20/hour dependent on experience.
How you will contribute to the success of the team
Enter new hire drivers' information (including direct deposit) accurately
Process driver voucher pay sheets
Maintain and adjust as necessary all driver garnishments
Coordinate all reimbursements (receipts) as they are routed for approvals
Pair purchase orders (POs) with corresponding receipts
Carefully evaluate driver payrolls trials prior to finalizing payroll
Ability to clearly communicate and maintain professional composure while handling large call volumes
