Responsibilities:
Provide clinical nutritional services in the form of nutrition assessments, education and medical nutrition therapy for all ages for patients at McLeod Health. May conduct nutrition therapy/nutritional assessments to patients at various McLeod campuses. Provide on-going nutrition therapy by collaborating with other disciplines on the health care team to coordinate medical nutrition therapy needs, participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to hospital quality improvement initiatives. This is a primarily inpatient position; however clinical dietitians may provide medical nutrition therapy and/or nutrition education via outpatient nutrition services and/or community nutrition events as needed Occasional travel may be necessary as deemed appropriate. Will contribute to dietetic intern precepting.
Must have a clean, neat appearance and friendly attitude. Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
This position will require weekend & holiday rotation for full-time employees.

* Assesses the nutritional status of patients through accurate and timely documentation in medical records using parameters such as anthropomorphic measurements, nutrition-focused physical assessment, and interpretation of laboratory values.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Required Licenses and/or Certifications
RegisteredDietitian status granted by the American Dietetic Association Commission on Dietetic Registration required. Specialty certification required when applicable.
Employment in this position is contingent upon the successful completion of all required and eligible examinations or certifications related to the role. The selected candidate must obtain and provide proof of passing these examinations within six (6) months of the date of hire. Failure to meet this requirement may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

**RegisteredDietitian (RD) - Richmond Diabetes & Endocrinology**
**Primary Function/General Purpose of Position**
The outpatient RegisteredDietitian (RD) performs each step of the Nutrition Care Process (NCP), including patient assessment, nutrition diagnosis, nutrition intervention, monitoring and evaluation. The RD applies, participates in, or generates research to enhance clinical practice, and utilizes information technology to manage knowledge, problem solve and support decision making. The RD develops nutrition care plans and educates diverse patient populations through the application of knowledge and principles of disease management, prevention, and behavioral change. The outpatient RD provides nutrition education to the community through group classes and hospital-affiliated health fairs, wellness activities and promotions. The RD is a specialist in nutrition who is responsible for the nutritional care of patients identified as either having moderate to high risk for diabetes, or who are living with pre-diabetes or diabetes. Working in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, the RD will share expertise and knowledge of nutrient care with patients, their families, and other health care professionals. **Employment Qualifications**
Education/Experience: Baccalaureate of Science in Nutrition from a university offering an ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics granting a bachelor's degree. Successful completion of an ACEND-accredited Dietetic Internship Program, providing at least 900 hours of supervised practical experience. Current Virginia Drivers' License. Experience in Community, Primary Care settings and/or experience working with diabetes patients Certified Diabetes Care and Educator Specialist- CDCES Skills/Abilities: Knowledge and proficiency in current, evidence-based methods and practices of primary care delivery, with an emphasis on health promotion and risk reduction. Superior leadership, organization, research, evaluation, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in the use of computers, particularly in MS Word, Excel, Outlook. Maintain monthly statistics as needed for monthly reporting purposes as well as grant reporting purposes.
Direct and prepare health related articles for local newspapers and magazines.

Pediatric Dietitian Needed for Spaulding Outpatient

Experience with feeding teams and patients with neurodevelopmental diagnoses preferred.
Manages the comprehensive medical nutritional care of patients which includes providing nutrition assessment, development of nutrition care plans, diet modification, nutrition education, and all activities involved in the nutritional needs of the patient population.
Essential Functions
Based on multiple criterion including assessment of nutritional needs, physician's orders, clinical data, interdisciplinary health care plans, and standards of quality nutritional care that appropriately meet age, psychosocial and physical needs of patients, the Dietitian develops and implements nutrition plan of care for patients.
Documentation of all nutrition related information including assessment, nutrition therapy recommendations and care plan, follow up data and changes, diet consultation results, discharge planning, daily clinical activities, and other related orders and pertinent information.
Counsel, educate, and develop resources and materials for the education of patients on families on prescribed therapeutic diets.
Partner with food service staff to ensure meals, supplements, and nutrition support is provided; review patients' menu selections to monitor compliance with modified diets.

Safety & Quality. You will help with clinical and operational processes, with a focus on improving patient health and achieving target goals for patient outcomes. What we're looking for
* Current RegisteredDietitian (RD/RDN) certification showing proof of registration with Commission on Dietetic Registration (includes Baccalaureate or Advanced degree).
* Minimum of one-year experience in clinical nutrition as a RegisteredDietitian.
* Current Dietitian (LD/LDN) license in applicable state is required unless employed in the state of AZ, CA, CO, HI, IN, MI, NJ or VA. State certification (Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist) required in CT and NY. License must be maintained as current and in good standing.
* Demonstrated working knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

May conduct nutrition therapy/nutritional assessments to patients at various McLeod campuses.
