Founded by one man in 1952, McNICHOLS has grown into a thriving, industry-leading supplier of "Hole Products" including McNICHOLS® Perforated and Expanded Metals, Wire Mesh and Designer Metals, as well as Bar Grating, Fiberglass Grating, Plank Grating and Flooring products.
When Bob began the business in 1952, he specialized in selling products with holes, Perforated Metal in particular.
1955 The library outgrows its space and moves to a new location on the other side of Civic Center Park and the Denver Water Board moves in.
In 1955, the library eventually outgrew its space and for the first time since it opened, the lavish building sat empty.
After Bob passed away in 1981, his son Gene took over the leadership of McNICHOLS. Today, Gene and his family carry on Bob's legacy.
Lime Green Corinthian over Saturn Dublin, 2010, drapes pink fabric to shade the entrance of the exhibit while the Corinthian columns were transformed to represent palm trees seen throughout the Americas.
That tradition continues as Denver Arts & Venues re-opened the building in 2012 as a contemporary hub for arts and culture for the people of Denver.
2016 McNichols Civic Center Building completes its second renovation adding new features like a redesigned courtyard, expanded first floor event space, upgraded restrooms and many more.
