The Sanding and Robot Operator - 3rd Shift position sets up, operates and maintains multiple robotic sanding cells as trained and instructed to meet or exceed defined production targets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned)
Operates multiple robotic sanding cells with the loading and unloading of helmets to maximize robot time sanding while also ensuring quality.
Identify helmet models to be sanded and correctly set the machine fixturing to ensure quality sanding.
Load and unload helmets from the fixturing proplerly.
Organize and maintain the machine fixturing so that they can be easily found as needed.
Operate the computer controls of each cell to select the proper program for the paint color being sanded.
Load the robot sanding tool as needed with the proper sand paper grit per the program running.
Change the interface pads and backup pads on each cell running as needed to maintain quality sanding.
Identify and communicate issues quickly to the GrayMatter Team using the Hot Line and the Team Viewer communication tool.
Communicate issues immediately to Team Leader and Supervisor.
Observes all safety rules and regulations.
Exercises care and good judgment at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
Adheres to all company policies, procedures, rules, and BRG Code of Conduct.
Practices good housekeeping by keeping work cells clean and organized.
Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

We are seeking a MachineOperator for our Louisville manufacturing facility. A MachineOperator will perform various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on assigned machines. The MachineOperator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and make any adjustments or changes necessary to maintain a quality product. Provide detailed feedback about your line, and the issues occurring. Report machine settings on your line daily. Being involved in CIL's (clean inspect & lubrication) each day to keep machines clean and find defective parts. Keep tools in their designated area and keep a clean workspace.
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain a minimum of two forming presses along with two sets of packaging lines.
Troubleshoot problems during operation for both the forming presses and packaging line equipment.
Supply and install all raw material for the forming presses and packaging equipment as needed.
Monitor quality of product as it is discharged from forming machines, such as formation, stack configuration, print quality, delivery to packaging line, etc.
Monitor the quality of the packaged product after passing through the packaging line.
Execute and maintain all WSWD procedures and standards:
Peer to Peer communication-Huddle to discuss status of production line with shift counterparts. Document productivity and losses
Centerlines-Confirm machine settings and complete deviations when setting note to standard.
CIL's-Clean and inspect equipment daily to find and report defects.
Defect Handling-Complete defect tags for any defects found on the equipment.
6S-Maintain workspace organization.
Breakdown Elimination-Tag parts removed and replaced during a breakdown. Place into part morgue bin
Communicate with assigned Packers to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
Load paperboard rolls onto machine ensuring its placement is correct.
Assist the Packers in packing product when lines are running efficiently.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Two years in a manufacturing environment in a similar role
Good mechanical abilities
Basic mathematical skills
Basic computer skills
