Purpose:
The lead socialworker at UTHS will work with 9-12th grade students to increase social, emotional, and academic success. This position will work in collaboration with the high school programs to increase student engagement and monitor and support the social, mental, and emotional well-being of our students. Additionally, this position will help maintain a support staff to work with and support students in our programs. This role also involves working closely with staff to support their understanding and implementation of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) practices. After a successful probationary period, this position may be eligible for Flexible Work Arrangements (FWA).
Responsibilities:
Assessment:
* Assess and verify short-term and long-term goals of the Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program.
* Uses data to make decisions and adjustments to the Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program.
* Organize resources, develop systems, and communicate with UTHS administration to align and prioritize work to achieve measurable goals.
* Assess staff needs and provide support for implementing Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) practices.
Administration and Implementation:
* Design and implement professional development to support the social emotional learning curriculum and instruction using best practices, including research on theory and content standards with particular emphasis on students in the foster care system.
* Design Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) education workshops for staff, students, parents, and community.
* Stay up to date and current on best practices in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL).
* Travel to attend mentoring sessions, conferences, and training sessions and to participate in marketing opportunities for the UTHS programs and services. (up to 20%)
* Supervise, support and mentor any Social Work interns and ensure they provide high quality services and high levels of engagement with UTHS students.
* Provide ongoing support and guidance to staff for implementing Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) practices effectively across programs.
Collaboration and Communication:
* Work closely with the Director of Graduation Pathways to ensure student success.
* Work to assist instructional support and the MTSS system.
* Work closely with UTHS administrative staff to coordinate student services.
* Communicate with internal and external partners to support all students, including partners from a variety of departments/colleges at the University of Texas and state agencies.
* Consult and work collaboratively with administration, staff, and Director of Graduation Pathways concerning Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) needs of students and provides guidance on designing Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) integration into the schools and programs.
* Create and work collaboratively for the integration of district wide Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) education aligned with the district's campus improvement plan.
* Update and prepare engagement and participation data for monthly and quarterly reports.
Student Monitoring and Support:
* Monitor students in the UTHS-Texas and UTHS-International programs.
* Monitor student progress, achievement, grades, emotional/mental health.
* Identify and use motivational strategies to connect students to services to support overcoming day-to-day obstacles.
* Provide engagement support for students to ensure participation is ongoing throughout enrollment through graduation.
* Coordinate and prepare student support materials and mentoring sessions online and face-to-face, webinars, group, and individual mentoring.

Required Qualifications:
* Master's degree in social work (MSW/MSSW), counseling, education, or a closely related field with at least five years as a professional clinicalsocialworker.
* Certified Advanced Clinical Practitioner
* Experience working in an educational setting, implementing support for a variety of student groups, supporting students to high levels of engagement, targeted objectives and tracking and reporting data.

KEY FUNCTIONS

The Senior Behavioral Health Therapist and Program Lead (LCSW-S, LPC-S, or LMFT-S) will work as part of an interdisciplinary, team-based program that cares for patients enrolled in the Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT) program at UT Health Austin Dell Medical School. TCHATT provides telemedicine or telehealth programs to school districts to help identify and assess the behavioral health needs of children and adolescents and provide access to mental health services. The Senior Behavioral Health Therapist and Program Lead will provide mental health therapy to children, adolescents, and family members and oversee other counselors providing TCHATT services.
This position includes providing structured clinical supervision to support the professional development and licensure progression of LPC-Associates, LMSWs, or LMFTs in Texas. In accordance with state regulations, the supervisor must hold the appropriate supervisory credential: an LPC-S to supervise LPC-As, an LCSW-S to supervise LMSWs, an LMFT-S to supervise LMFT-As.
This is a state funded position sponsored by the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium (TCMHCC). TCMHCC was created by the 86th Texas Legislature to leverage the expertise and capacity of the health-related institutions of higher education to address urgent mental health challenges and improve the mental health care system in this state in relation to children, adolescents, and perinatal women.

Purpose

Dell Medical School is seeking a Mental Health Therapist licensed as a ClinicalSocialWorker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Psychologist (LP), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join the Bipolar Disorder Center as part of an interdisciplinary, team-based program that provides care for individuals with bipolar disorder at UT Health Austin and conducts research at Dell Medical School.

Purpose
The Mental Health Therapist provides assessment, triage and treatment to individuals diagnosed with bipolar disorder who may also have co-occurring substance use disorders, other co-morbid psychiatric disorders and/or chronic health conditions using a time-limited, evidence-based approach. This position provides direct services, functions as community liaison and as an interdisciplinary team member. Provides clinical leadership to other staff and functions to provide supervision to learners, which may be assigned to unit with consideration to current caseload.
Responsibilities
Work in partnership with the care team of the Bipolar Disorder Center to deliver patient-centered care for individuals diagnosed with bipolar disorder and other psychiatric conditions.
Conduct diagnostic evaluations and provide assessment of strengths, preferences, functional impairments and symptoms of psychiatric and/or co-occurring disorder(s) at regular intervals to ensure optimal and personalized services.
Deliver therapeutic evidence-based and best practice interventions including, but not limited to, skills training through psychoeducation and patient education strategies; individual, family and group services; and crisis services with linkages to crisis resources as needed.
Completes accurate, timely documentation

Required Qualifications
Masters-level behavioral health clinicians or higher, able to bill for clinical services and hold at a minimum one of the following licenses granted by the State of Texas: Licensed ClinicalSocialWorker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Psychologist (LP), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

General Notes
This position is grant-funded with an expected end date of August 31, 2026. It is designated as a fellowship opportunity for recent graduates of the Steve Hicks School of Social Work Master of Social Work (MSW) program. Eligible candidates must have graduated in either the December 2024 or May 2025 cohorts.
Purpose
This position aims to professionally develop a recent MSW SHSSW graduate in integrated healthcare service provision through therapeutic evidence-based practice models and measurement-based care approaches to full clinical licensure. Over the two-year period, the position will meet the required supervision hours for a fully licensed clinicalsocialworker. The position will provide therapeutic support to young adults between the ages of 18 and 29 who seek the Amplify Center for mental healthcare, which is part of UT Health Austin.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of an LCSW-S, the mental health therapist completes a biopsychosocial assessment of patients. The applied biopsychosocial model and approach will include cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, supportive therapy, and/or other techniques and modalities as clinically indicated. Completes relative evaluations and treatment plans and provides individual, family, and group psychotherapy. Participates in screening, tracking, and reporting of patient outcomes and social work interventions. Completes documentation in the clinical record related to interaction with individuals served, families, and other service providers in an accurate and timely manner, in accordance with professional ethics and with both Federal and State regulations.
Provides discipline-specific knowledge to interdisciplinary team around mental health, cultural competency, social determinants of health, and innovative ways to approach chronic illness in patients. Participates in value-based research initiatives and research for operational improvements in patient care.
Provides care management to include connecting patients to needed resources such as community mental health services, and other resources in the community.
Maintains clear, timely, adequate, and professional documentation of patient progress, in assessment, goal planning, and discharge processes.
Work collaboratively with an integrated team and provide discipline-specific knowledge about mental health and successful ways to approach young adults' social and emotional needs at work and school.

Required Qualifications
Must be a recent graduate of the UT Austin Steve Hicks School of Social Work with a master's in social work no earlier than December 2024.
Licensure in the state of Texas (LMSW) or be certified as an LPC Associate (LPC-A) in the state of Texas with 1,000 hours towards full clinical licensure.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with other health care professionals (i.e., physicians, psychologists, socialworkers, school counselors, care coordinators).
Maintain a positive, compassionate, and professional attitude when engaging with patients and their family members.
