A postdoctoral fellow position is available int he department of Imaging Physics, under the mentorship of Dr. Jia Wu. The trainee will collaborate on projects designated by the mentor and will contribute to all aspects of the research process, including project conception, data collection, and analysis. Primary data collection may include, but is not limited to, chart reviews for genomic typing, treatment response, and survival outcomes of lung cancer patients treated with various therapies, as well as the integration of histology, radiomics, and genomics data. The trainee will analyze results using mathematical and statistical tools, compile findings, prepare reports, and submit these to the mentor.

Resource Recovery is a department within UT Facilities Services that encompasses both Zero Waste and Surplus Property. Resource Recovery is tasked with improving sustainability at UT, with a focus on our Zero Waste goal of diverting 90% of materials from the landfill. Major diversion strategies include reduction, reuse, recycling, and composting.
You would be a member of Resource Recovery's Student Internship Program; we anticipate 18 interns in this year's cohort. All of our student interns meet weekly as a team to share and learn, and create synergy across our work. In addition to assisting with outreach and education events, each Team Member will participate in hands-on waste audits, gaining the opportunity to assess campus buildings' trash and recycling to identify opportunities to improve outreach and education programming. Additionally, Team Members will join a specific Project Team within Resource Recovery's umbrella of work. This position works on the same project team as our Outreach Intern. The Kwong Laboratory within the department of Translational Molecular Pathology seeks a Research Intern. The primary focus of the Research Intern will be on a project that identifies a new drug combination in bladder cancer, which is found to have strong synergy. The research intern will assist in experiments, including but not limited to cell culture, western blotting, and molecular cloning to gain high proficiency in specific bladder cancer protocols.
All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The Research Intern will be engaged in training for a career in cancer research. Their skills will be engaged in the following research activities to increase their knowledge of cancer research topics:
* Collaborating with the mentor and other senior lab members to continue efforts of an ongoing research project.
* Bi-monthly meetings with faculty mentor.
* Learning the technical aspects of the research project and interpretation of experimental data.
* Learning sufficient laboratory techniques to work independently and collaboratively to proficiently and constructively address research setbacks.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent, recently obtained within one year. Previous research experience is required.
