Purpose
Supports the Occupational Health Program clinic in administration of job required medical surveillance exams and first aid for work injuries.
Responsibilities
Provides nursing assessments and care in accordance with RN scope of practice, OHP standing delegation orders and established procedures. Performs routine clinical skills including, but not limited to vital signs, medication administration, physical assessments, respirator fit testing, audiograms, immunizations, TB screenings, etc. Makes appropriate medical referrals and conducts follow-up evaluations.
Performs assessments of work-related injuries to evaluate nature and extent of condition, provide first aid treatment and determine appropriate work status. Assists in processing workers' compensation claims and return-to-work cases. Utilizes active listening skills identifies customer issues/needs and provides appropriate referral and solutions. Maintains accurate documentation in an electronic medical record (EMR) in accordance with regulatory requirements and confidentiality guidelines
Evaluates employees enrolled in job related medical surveillance programs, including but not limited to: Asbestos, Bloodborne Pathogens, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Protection, Lab Animal Allergy, and Reactor programs. Provides annual surveillance for faculty and staff enrolled in these programs.
Required Qualifications
Demonstration of the following competencies: Customer focus, organizing, problem solving, integrity and trust, dealing with ambiguity, and evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality. Demonstrated experience excising independent judgment in analyzing complex work situations. Demonstrated ability to compose and edit correspondence. Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Demonstrated professional demeanor. Competencies typically acquired through a bachelor's degree and two plus years of RN experience in an urgent care, school or clinical office environment. To provide clinical care, a current Registered Nurse License to practice in the State of Texas plus current CPR/AED certification. Must be able to ambulate quickly between work areas, independently initiate CPR and physical requirements thereof, and be able to wear an N95 or another appropriate respirator.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Occupational health experience including certifications or specialized training in occupational health (COHN-S), case management(COHN-S/CM or CM), ergonomics, PFT technician training, safety (CSP) or licensed workers' compensation adjuster. Bilingual in Spanish. Knowledgeable of ADAAA, FMLA and OSHA regulations. Experience in higher education or public sector.

Purpose
The Pre/Post Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care provided to the surgical patient during the pre-admission, pre-op and post-op period.
Responsibilities
Function in pre-admission, pre- and post-operative nursing capacities in the care of ambulatory surgery patients or be willing to cross train to achieve the full capacity of care
Demonstrates necessary practical, technical, or specialized skills required for the role of the pre- and post-operative nurse in accordance with standards of practice
Plans, implements, and evaluates pre and post-operative nursing care for patients based on individual, specific patient needs, and according to physician's orders.
Must have a flexible schedule and willingness to report to work with short notice and anticipate schedule fluctuations based on patient length of stay and postoperative needs
Must have adequate understanding of operative procedures
Maintains and demonstrates current skills and knowledge of intravenous therapy, medication administration and effects, patient assessment, airway maintenance, patient education, emotional/social support of patients and families, and other needed clinical competencies
Reviews charts for completeness, in accordance with documentation protocols prior to and after the surgical procedure. Assures relevant information is in the chart prior to the start of procedure.
Participates in hand-off communication to ensure continuity of care
Participates in the anesthesia time-out process if performed in the pre-op area prior to administration of pre-operative blocks or prior to the induction of anesthesia.
Responsible for medication management, including controlled substances, handling biohazardous materials and surgical specimens, maintaining inventory in care areas,
And maintaining required logs such as temperature, medical gas levels, etc., and QC of CLIA waived tests
Required Qualifications
Active Texas RN license
Minimum of three years pre- or post-op experience
BLS & ACLS Certification upon employment
PALS certification within 3 months of hire

The Dell Medical School is seeking a Clinical Nurse Supervisor for the Ambulatory Clinic.
Purpose
The Clinical Nurse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that care is coordinated, services are delivered, and care is managed appropriately within designated clinical units. The Clinical Nurse Supervisor supervises all clinical support staff (RNs, LVNs, CMAs and technicians) and provides training, mentoring and coaching as necessary.

Purpose
The Circulator/Scrub Registered Nurse will serve as a key team member in the Ambulatory Surgery Center at UT Health Austin. This position is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care provided to the surgical patient during the intra-operative period as a circulating nurse. Nursing care meets the standards of the profession, the policies and procedures of the Center and is appropriate to the needs of patients and their families.
Responsibilities
Demonstrates practical, technical or specialized knowledge and skills required for the role of the peri-operative nurse in compliance with regulations and standards of practice. Demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures and has the ability to oversee the instrument and equipment set-up, prepare for the case utilizing preference cards, and anticipates needs of surgeon.
Facilitates transition between surgical procedures. Demonstrates knowledgeable patient management, including anesthesia procedures, response to potentially critical situations and sudden changes in patient condition, i.e., cardiopulmonary arrest, malignant hyperthermia, etc.
Contacts patients in advance of procedures for an assessment during the preoperative phase. Performs thorough patient interview and assessment, and assures a detailed time out process. Reviews charts for completeness prior to and after the surgical procedure. Assures consent and other relevant information is on chart prior to the start of procedure. Participates in hand-off communication to PACU staff to ensure continuity of care.
Participates in the anesthesia time-out process if performed in the pre-op area prior to administration of pre-operative blocks or prior to the induction of anesthesia. Responsible for medication management, including controlled substances.
Responsible for the handling of biohazardous materials and surgical specimens. Assures all members of the surgical team comply with principles of surgical asepsis and sterile technique.

Required Qualifications
Active Texas RN license and a minimum of one year of intra-operative experience
BLS Certification upon employment
ACLS certification within 6 months of hire
Knowledge of current surgical procedures and anesthesia care
Experience in at least two of the following service lines: endoscopy, orthopedics, ophthalmology, gynecology, general surgery, urology, plastics
Knowledge of current infection control and sterile technique practices.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
