quality standards are being upheld for all products within the Lassens Meat Department. A Meat Clerk will provide
courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Orders all meat products including poultry, fish, lamb, pork, beef. Also orders merchandise, supplies, and
equipment for the Meat Department.
2. Records delivery of merchandise, compares record with merchandise ordered, and reports discrepancies to
control costs and maintain correct inventory levels.
3. Maintains COOL Program Compliance and ensures accuracy of records and labeling.
4. Inspects merchandise on the sales floor to ensure it is correctly priced and displayed.
a. Ensures all displayed items have correct date codes
b. Ensures all expired products are pulled
5. Listens to customer complaints, examines returned merchandise, and resolves problems to restore and promote
outstanding public relations.
6. Follows and enforces “Lassens Market Stocking & Facing Policy”.
7. Hangs correct shelf labels and signs in front of correct products using UPC, PLU and date range as exclusive
criteria.
8. Strictly maintains a working “Special Order Book” in accordance with Lassens Special Order Policy. Assists
team in research and acquisition of any item/items requested by customers in a timely manner. Follow up with
communication to customers for out of stock situations.
9. Sells products.
10. Sells merchandise.
11. Plans, follows through with, and maintains departments merchandise and promotional displays.
12. Cuts and wraps meat according to Lassen's standards.
13. Adheres to and enforces all Safety Procedures, such as wearing non-slip shoes, using metal mesh gloves while
performing meat cutting, and wearing a clean meat smock.
14. If necessary, ensures product transfers are performed correctly.
