Meat wrapper job description

Essential Job Functions:

* Ensure efficient and courteous customer service at all times in support of the company mission to "Run the Best Store in Town!"
* Maintain a positive attitude; create an atmosphere of friendliness and fun through flexibility and teamwork.
* Generate a positive, friendly, and fun working environment with a customer first initiative by greeting and speaking to customers, provide prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service.
* Products for self-service are in proper package with correct weights and ingredients
* Follow company food safety program
* Wrapping, weighing, and pricing of all meat department products
* Assist in stocking and ordering product in display cases
* Assist in organizing cooler arrangement and rotation of product
* Keep workstation and area around workstation neat and clean
* Department is to be sanitized and cleaned at least twice a day
* Responsible for attending on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies

Qualifications:

* Must be 18 years of age or older
* Ability to meet standard Physical, Mental, and Visual demands
* Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis
* Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies

The Meat Wrapper is responsible for handling meat and meat products. Wrapper will weigh, wrap, price, and label all meat products, as well as stock shelves and maintain a clean work area. Wrapper is responsible for setting an example in providing attentive and courteous customer service.

Adhere to company policy through proper processing, preparation, and packaging of product
Ensure that pricing on product is correct and clearly marked
Follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies regarding Meat operations, safety, and sanitation
Maintain proper case conditions, including cleaning, stocking, straightening, and rotating product to minimize shrink
Promote sales through courteous and friendly customer service
Follow direction of Meat Manager/Manager on Duty and perform other duties as assigned Travel Required:No

Provides fast, friendly, helpful and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers. Responsible for properly wrapping, weighing and labeling meat products according to company policies and procedures. Ensures that meat products in the case are displayed and rotated accurately and that the product levels are adequate to promote optimal opportunity for sales. Responsible for providing a high level of customer courtesy and service at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Consistently work to provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service at all times. Responsible for smiling, making eye contact and thanking customer upon fulfilling customer's request. Maintain a clean, neat and organized workstation, according to 5S standards, at all times. Ensure proper wrapping and weighing procedures and techniques are adhered to with regard to all meat department products. Follow all merchandising procedures with regard to the meat department products (i.e.: case layout, pricing and coding). Responsible for the proper display and rotation of meat department products. Responsible for adhering to all corporate and state sanitation policies and procedures pertaining to the meat department. Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
