This role works with our outside suppliers to ensure timely delivery of services for our operations - this includes paint and metal plating. You will attend a morning production meeting with our supervisors and customer service team for updates. Our parts go all over the world to various large companies in the agriculture, construction, and automotive industries.
Position will tyically work office hours - with flexibility to work from home once a week.
Overview:
Ensures the reliable supply of purchased goods and services required to meet production demands and customer expectations. Develops and maintains relationships with vendors to obtain product and service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
Responsibilities
Purchases goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
Completes purchase requests with domestic and international suppliers by inputting purchase orders, expediting deliveries, and verifying all transactions.
Manages open purchase order status including follow-up with suppliers regarding delivery dates, transportation modes, and expedite needs.
Manages the subcontract purchase order process with suppliers and internal customers.
Handles over-shipments, delivery shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates, and prices and reports such changes to impacted parties promptly.
Authorizes payment for purchases by reviewing invoices and related documentation.
Monitors supplier performance by ensuring that product is delivered as scheduled and meets specifications; maintaining appropriate files and records of meetings with suppliers to ensure company requirements are met and that the supplier is aware of their performance.
Issues requests for quotes/proposals (RFQ/RFP) and selects the best source consistent with cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
Manages Purchase Price Variance (PPV) strategically by developing mitigation plans and strategies to positively impact overall results.
Reviews all available reports for shortages and excess and takes appropriate action to expedite or disposition material.
Conducts supplier performance review and business plan review with strategic suppliers for leverage and future planning. Maintains supplier relationships to drive cost reductions while achieving the highest level of quality material.
Performs additional duties as assigned.

* Reads and Studies all bid documents to gain a thorough understanding of the project scope.
* Assists the PM with maintaining the project set of IFC Drawings and assuring that the set is always the correct revision. Assist the PM with reviewing revised drawings for changes as they are issued.
* Ensure that project documentation is being prepared accurately (daily reports, time sheets, photos, as-builts, material test reports, subcontractor progress, etc.) and are being filed properly and timely.

Recognizes safety hazards on equipment and in the plant and initiates corrective action
Follows lockout procedures and all safety rules in the facility
Performs and maintains preventative maintenance program
Requisitions and keeps supply of spare parts; knowledge of proper purchasing procedures
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew
Maintains time and production records
Must have ability to perform duties and responsibilities of lower maintenance classifications
Ability to interpret electrical/mechanical sketches, schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation
Knowledge of applicable electrical codes normally found in a manufacturing environment

Education/Experience:
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with emphasis in electrical training; or five or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software and Microsoft Office software.
Certificates and Licenses:
Journeyman electrician certification preferred. Valid Fork Lift License.
