MeC core business is the exercise of activities as assistance, analysis and technical coordination in industrial, design and management fields, dealing with: -companies assistance in terms of technical management for the study and development of solutions in order to resolve design issues; -cost analysis of all elements of the project; -determination of the technological cycle and time of labour; -feasibility studies and design aspects; -cost benchmarking. MeC offers his consultancy services in Cost Engineering to determinate the cycle times and costs of any industrial process. Our analysis of tooling and variable costs allows the identification and understanding of cost drivers in design, manufacturing and purchasing areas. Job Description The Electrical/Electronic Systems Cost Engineer will be responsible for all technical costs associated with Electronic Modules and/or Electrical/Electronic Switching Devices and associated mechanical mechanisms. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1) component variable costs and tooling for all vehicles; 2) cost evaluating and collaborating product change notices; 3) evaluating tool firm price contracts and verifying asset existence; 4) ensure appropriate escalation to upper management if component cost collaborations cannot be agreed upon with the respective suppliers; 5) supporting internal competitive vehicle bench marking. Local travel may be required to review suppliers manufacturing plant layout and processes in support of supplier manufacturing process mapping and the creation of cost models. Qualifications BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from an ABET accredited university with Minimum of 5 years of automotive electronics module experience or automotive electrical/electronic switching experience is preferred. Open with journeyman or candidate with HS diploma with 10+ years exp (R EQUIRING 10+ years experience with Experience with PCB, circuit components, and or displays). The Engineering Manager plans and directs projects assigned to engineering function to ensure that project objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Fosters the development of the engineering team. Responsibilities 1. Reviews project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project. 2. Manages assigned projects from conception to end of life. 3. Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority. 4. Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget. 5. Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required. 6. Prepares project reports for management, client, or others. 7. Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems. 8. Provides input at customer site by suggesting alternate designs to reduce manufacturing cost. 9. Supports MEC sales department in serving our customers. 10. Trains and develops project engineers and improves systems used by engineering group. 11. Investigates and implements best practices for engineering function. 12. Leads high-performance engineering team by directing work, demonstrating best practices, and managing roadblocks. 13. Develops and initiates new technologies, process improvement initiatives and cost reduction programs. 14. Proposes business solutions related to product safety initiatives, annual strategic/situational planning, long-term planning, and supplier relationship agreements. Educational Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management or related field, or equivalent education and experience. Experience Requirements • Seven years of engineering experience. • Prior management or supervisory experience preferred.
