About the position: Select's Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing mechanical problems, repairing and rebuilding equipment on or off-site. Essential Functions Maintains diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventative maintenance requirements, correcting vehicle deficiencies, adjusting, and alignments, and keeping records. Ensures a clean, safe work environment at all times. Identifies and maintains an inventory of high-use, common maintenance items. Functions "on-call" in order to respond to emergency callouts. Controls costs of in-house and outsourced maintenance or repairs through use of warranty and vendor evaluation. Maintains transportation fleet in a manner that ensures the safety and protection of employees, clients and general public including the environment. Must possess valid driver's license and be eligible to drive a company vehicle according to Select's insurance guidelines. Must be able to work on both small and large engines. Will be required at times to perform mobile servicing. Inspects, repairs, maintains and services Flight School aircraft in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations.
