Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Deployable Aircraft Mechanic 4 for a rotational OCONUS program based in Palmdale, CA.
You will be responsible for performing minor structural repairs and modifications. Troubleshoot, repair and service aircraft and engine systems. Conduct diagnosis of malfunctions. Perform maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems. All within accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations. Fabricate, install and test installation, routing, clamping and wiring harnesses. Read wiring diagrams and blueprints. You may receive additional training and be cross utilized into aircraft low observable maintenance to fulfill the daily activities and duties required to meet contract requirements. Low Observable tasks include repair of composite or metallic structures, and sanding, stripping, testing, masking and other preparation tasks.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and 6 years of relevant experience in the Aviation and/or Aerospace industry.
Must have an active DoD Top Secret (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by business needs.

Responsibilities:
Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains a wide variety of commercial restaurant and food preparation equipment such as mixers, slicers, blenders, etc.
Repairs and maintains commercial ice makers and ice dispensers.
Repairs and maintains commercial dishwashing and ware washing equipment.
Repairs and maintains gas and electric grills, ovens, stoves, and ranges.
Repairs and maintains commercial soft-serve ice cream machines.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
At least 5 years' experience in the repair and maintenance of commercial kitchen equipment.
At least 3 years' experience with the repair and maintenance of refrigeration equipment such as freezers, coolers, and ice making equipment.
At least 2 years' experience with the repair and maintenance of gas or electric cooking equipment such as ranges, ovens, grills, or fryers.

The starting pay rate for this position is $33.87 an hour. Pay rate increases incrementally according to the union contract. Current top wage is $43.50 after 36 months.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Maintain and repair HVAC equipment including split systems, VRF ducted and ductless systems, package units, water pumps, heat pumps, fans, air handler units, heating units, refrigeration equipment, and air compressors.

Troubleshoot problems using appropriate electrical, mechanical, or pneumatic testing equipment.

Assist in the installation of major new air conditioning systems, including installation of ducts, piping, various air conditioning units, and related equipment.

The Opportunity
We are pursuing qualified candidates to fill Elevator Mechanic positions in the Maintenance & Operations Section. Selected candidates will maintain, inspect, and repair operating and safety features of elevators, dumbwaiters, and escalators and maintain and inspect electronic control panels, switches, relays, signal devices, and other related equipment. These positions also are responsible for the inspection and repair of hoist motors and machinery, governors, door mechanisms, cables, hydraulic buffers, pumps, rails, and other related equipment. Incumbents in these positions must exercise a knowledge of elevator and escalator maintenance, inspection, and repair procedures, techniques, and safety practices and of the equipment and tools necessary to perform the maintenance and repair work.
Position Responsibilities
Tests and adjusts general operating and safety features of elevators, dumbwaiters, and escalators such as speed, acceleration, leveling, braking, emergency stop, and alarm bell.
Maintains and repairs electronic control panels, switches, relays, signal devices, electric motors, generators and related equipment.
Inspects, adjusts, maintains, and repairs hoist motors and machinery, governors, door mechanisms, cables, hydraulic buffers, pumps, brakes, rails, guides and related equipment.
Determines the need for and performs major overhaul or replacement of defective equipment.

Requirements to Qualify
Option 1: Completion of a recognized elevator mechanic training program* of at least four (4) years, duration -OR- Option II: Five (5) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of elevators or escalators, one year of which must have been at the journey-level.
License(s):
* A valid California Class C Driver License is required to perform the job-related essential functions.
Successful applicants for positions that require driving must obtain and present a copy of his/her driving record from the California State Department of Motor Vehicles before final appointment. Applicants should not present a copy of their driving history until asked to do so by the hiring department. 3 - Moderate. Includes standing or walking most of the time, with bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and reaching; includes working on irregular surfaces, occasionally lifting objects weighing over 25 pounds, and frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds.

Performs a variety of other tasks depending on experience including welding (Mig, Tig and Arc) and fabrication; sets up and operates lathe, mill, drill press, grinder and other metal working equipment.
Reads, understands and applies information from manufacturer's manuals for service, repair and or component replacement. Accurately reads blue prints (mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic).
Provides guest service according to Six Flags standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
